FF:NSW Fan Meet - The Magic of Myth - Powerhouse Museum - Sept 28

First impressions....

pretty darn impressive...

Saw it yesterday with 2 friends who aren't exactly Star Wars inclined so I probably didn't get the maximum experience out of the exhibition.

The main word I kept uttering was 'DETAIL'.

Just amazing some of the detail in the models and the props.

Highlights? Probably the Star Destroyer model at the start - just the sheer size and skill involved in making it. Then Darth Vader's costume, Yoda etc.

Lowlight?

Being cramped for room a bit due to the first day of School Holidays. And I was a tad jaded by the fact Jabba was about 3/4 the size he should've been!

Will have to try and see it with some of you in the future - for the full experience!

But for $11.00 I didn't get ripped off and that's the main thing!

We came in about midday and wandered through the exhibit.

I doubt you'd have recognised me anyway - I only have been at one meet anyway! The Hulk BBQ in June

Maybe another time we'll bump into each other!

I was there from about 1:20pm. Just around the exhibition in the black Star Wars MoM shirt.

 

My step mum and stepbro tried to go today but the line was like around the corner and where they were in the line there was still 200 people infront of them so they said stuff it.

Sux to be them hee hee

I did, but didnt get anythoing spectacular.

I took some photos, but I still need to get mine developed.

 

I took a heap of pictures on Tuesday when I finally got down to see it. They're all on my girlfriend's computer however, so I'll try to get a hold of them.

I loved the show. We took so many pictures that we even stood next to a cardboard cutout of Padme in the middle of the gift shop for the hell of it.

Highlights, Yoda and Chewbacca. Lowlights, no ATAT and the helmets were made for kids.



But I did try valiently to get em on.

If I'm not busy or not away, sure I'll come. I think someone else said they'd be visiting in January as well, so hopefully it all works out to be the same time!

I also wanted to upload TMOM photos from the Sept 28 meet but we don't have enough space on the site even after I pruned a whole heap of the pics people took. It'll just have to wait a while.

 

Thanx Ki-Bara-Mundi - Ive put it out to people on the WA Boards that I am coming over, and it would be great to get some people from the WA Boards to come as well, It would be interesting to meet up with the people from the NSW Boards. Eventhough I will only be in sydney for a few days I hope that it will be an eventful time. I am hoping about the 20th January(If work Permits) So I shall be in touch.
