I always though that the following character in A New Hope was Armand Isard:

However, in the Wookipedia, canon section, there is no mention of any appearance in A New Hope for this character. Only in the novel Tarkin.

So, who is the guy on the picture and is there any canon picture of Armand Isard?

It was very technical, but that's not a bad thing. Facts are fodder for fiction. I have no idea how or when I will use this info, but now I have it. And it will roll around in my head and emerge someday in some completely different format. Thank you for sharing your expertise, mavjade!

Has canon or Legends come up with anything Han Solo might've been doing around the time of the Clone Wars?

Don't know myself...seems to be in his 30s around the time of ANH, so he'd be a kid/young teen during the Clone Wars?

Han was 19 in The Paradise Snare, which was 10BBY.

So that makes him 9 or under during the Clone Wars. Maybe you should read some Oliver Twist and put a SW spin on it.

Beside the Morgukai and Mandalorians what warrior orders/cultures do we know of that have reputation as Jedi-killers?

Thanks, I was confusing oxygen and pressure.

I had Han Solo as a kid in one of my stories and I had him living in the Blue Sector as some sort of a semi-feral child taking care of himself and already taking on some suspicious jobs.

Weren't the Noghri fairly lethal as Jedi killers?

I don't think so but that could just be because the noghri was not discovered until after the Empire was formed.

Technically just before now. The Republic comic issue Armor involves the near destruction of their world as Aayla Secura tries to prevent it. And yes, they do manage to kill a Jedi (not her).

whiskers: Sounds like what Sith-I-5 said. Garris Shrike as a Fagan, heck of an Oliver Twist parallel. Though I've got a hard time picturing Trader's Luck's captain and a chorus line singing the Oliver Twist song, 'Strong Men, Tremble When they hear it.'

If there were enough credits in it, it could happen. Eg. Shrike entering his kids into a singing competition, pretending to be a school choir or something.

If there's credits to be made, I'm pretty sure Shrike would have tried it.

I remember reading somewhere among the Star Wars reference books some years ago that the Bothans helped the Dressellian (sp?) species throw the Imperials off of their world by supplying them with slugthrowers and thus concealing their involvement. It seems uncharacteristic of the Empire attempt to not attempt to retake the Dressellian homeworld after this transpired or carry out some similar measure like a Base Delta Zero order, but Wookiepedia states they didn't do so.

    Wookiepedia states:

Presuming that the Empire had bigger fish to fry (the Rebel Alliance) I can see that logic, but given Palpatine's penchant for destruction, I'm surprised they avoided the Base Delta Zero order being administered on their home world via orbital bombardment. Wonder what precluded that.

Maybe it depends on which point in the timeline? Early on, the Empire is still trying to pretend it's a benevolent force for good & order, so wouldn't do anything too genocidal. Once the Rebellion grows in strength, they become more ruthless. After Endor, they're weakened without a clear chain of command, and have other things to worry about...

According to 'The Wook' Imperials occupied Dressel on 10 BBY. It's rather vague as to when the Dressellians were able to overthrow the Imperials timeline-wise, but it seems to be before Endor.

On another note, was it ever established how long it took Palpatine's spirit to go inhabit a clone body on Byss during the Dark Empire series? For the alternate timeline I'm working on involving Anakin dispatching Palpatine during the Chancelor arrest attempt in Revenge of the Sith I'm needing that information for Palpatine buying his time.

Am I correct to understand that SWAT teams (in RL) are some sort of heavily militarised riot police, not only highly specialised teams that deal with hostage situations and the like?

Yes, that's one of the things they do—any kind of situation where specialized military-type equipment is used by police officers is within the purview of SWAT. Here's their Wikipedia article.

I'm checking my sources: Gamer 5 and Book of the Sith have nothing. New Essential Guide to Characters said that he "waited for his time to strike". I'd be willing to wager that it happened nearly instantaneously.

EDIT: From the Dark Empire Sourcebook: "He had spent over a year disembodied, formless, drifting through the maddening void of the Dark Side. He had never foreseen having to transport his spirit so far across space."

What is the average yearly budget of the Empire during Palpatine's reign, in credits? :D
