I got an idea for the woods. For the top of the building since i think the idea was to use talbot, there actually a foresty type area right behind Talbot that we could use... It's not to think so it should be run throughable.

Well we have CG...OR we can make a puppet., the puppet making more sense. We played with the idea of modifing the costume mask and adding eyes et al....

So pass the word around and see what help we can get! Cause I know like NOTHING about making a puppet

The Jedi Council at the beginning...whos up for our "own" Council.

I still want Mace and Ki-Adi, but the rest can be anyone.

We can hopefully borrow/rent a Ki-Adi Mundi mask, and then thats all good....any one know any *ahem* African Canadian men that may or may not resemble Mace?

oh cool, I get to be the red Jedi again. I think I need to see what those belts look like again, so i can make one. Right now my costume looks more like a Samauri outfit.

There's a really cool looking conference room at my school (U of T at Scarborough). I know they use it all the time in movies and TV. I have no idea how to go about getting permission to use it, but I can look into it.

There's also some cool areas around the school (like big windows that look out over the rouge valley and a glass walkway that connects two wings), but today I checked out some of the areas I had thought of for specific scenes (in between my exams...ugh!) and they weren't nearly ideal as I had remembered. Not very Star Wars at all. S

One thing I was going to mention is that if nothing better is found (I'm sure there will be though ), I have a room in my basement (where my computer and TV is). The basement is unfinished, except this one room that has actual walls and a cheap carpet and an ugly drop ceiling. Its fairly large, and although I wouldn't be allowed to permantely alter anything, completely altering it with tons of props and whatever is totally cool.

 

Matt, we can't use those woods, they are one of the last remaining, have you ever read the sign by there? No way are they going to allow us to trample through it. They really don't even want people to step through it.

 

Hmm if we have a desert scene we can always go to Egypt!!!

I have a friend who is actually Phillipino but has been mistaken for Afro-Canadian many times. He would make a great Mace. He's got a large build (semi-pro body builder) The bonus is he's already bald and a huge SW fan who was excited when I told him about the fanfilm. He's here in Windsor with me.

PS Any scenes planned for R2?

Hey that sounds awesome Heath! Its a none speaking role at the moment, but he could definatly work out!

Does he have a costume?

Well R2 can be anywhere we can put him. Any scene just moving along, behind the actors and what not. Again no speaking roles...HOWEVER I have a blue R droid I need for the starfighter, and I was thinking CG or your guy...and we can just drape him in green cloth and have his head swivel etc...and it has a speaking role

So yes R2 can be in any scene

He does not have a costume. Keep me posted for shooting dates and such (off board, I only check the board if I'm expecting a reply). We would both need a fair bit of notice to make it up to London for the day. I'll ask him if he's interested.

My R2 should be radio-controlled soon.

A starfighter scene would rock!

Right then, costumes.
I looked through the Rubies catalogue at my local costume shop: all are latex masks

- Greedo ($30 to rent Fri-Tues), he looks really good

- adult Jedi costume (I didn't have time to see it, but they have a complete Jedi costume, including saber, that you can rent for $65 Fri-Tues), actually I forgot to ask if boots came with it

- other latex masks they have, you can only buy because they don't come with complete outfits. Yoda ($44.99), Kit and Plo ($59.99), Greedo ($37.50), they also have Saesee Tin, Geonosian, Watto, and Ackbar (this looked really odd), they are all around the $45-65 price range and they have to order them in.

-OT: they can also order in the Rubies Naboo star fighter and X-Wing helmets (a bit expensive at $90 - but I'm in heaven!). they do NOT have a Jedi Starfighter helmet, unfortuantely, there is not a whole lot of episode 2 stuff in the catalogue.

No, it appears that Ki-Adi does not exist in the Rubies catalogue. Though the latest catalogue I was looking at was a 2002.

Anyone else have ideas for locations??

 

I'm assuming that we haven't yet heard from UWO? I walked around McMaster campus today. Most of the buildings are modern but there are a couple of spots that would look great. Unfortunately they are really small. One of the residences has an archway that is done in a similar style to the one at Medway Hall (courtyard). Another building has a balcony that would be perfect. Again, these locations are very small so I don't know if it would be possible to use them. I can't get down there myself in the near future, but U of T might have some ideal locations as well, maybe someone who goes to U of T or lives downtown could give us some details.

 

No word on UWO yet...

Sabers are coming along GREAT! I look forward to seeing the finished bits, and showing them off to you all!

The Yoda I have selected will come to 225 + shipping (USD) Which is amazing for what we are getting. With a little time and effort he will be darn amazing! The hair will be correct from the following pics and he won't come as shown...He will be painted but otherwise it is up to us to make him work

UWO called me this morning and gave an affirmitive no, something about a blanket policy on filming....it sucks majorly but what can we do
Fanshawe College is a great candidate and I will post pictures later today of some key areas that we can possibly use, if they say yes.
