COSTUME UPDATE

Now that I'm not quite so busy this week (funerals, moving and a wedding will do that), I'm just about to start on the costumes. I'm hoping to make everything just a bit too big, because it is a LOT easier to make clothes smaller than enlarge them.

Justin, if you could just send me a message to remind me what all the pieces are that I have to make, that would help a lot. then I can check them off when I'm finished. I'll do Deb's last, since she won't be around for the first weekend.

I would love to help out, but have a move and a reunion that weekend. Thank you for the invite! I'll see if any other North Ridge members can make it.

I can't do this alone, and I have been lucky enough to find many many talented people Including one who can make prop binoculars from pill bottles!

All I really need now is a real talent team of CG artists

Shooting this Saturday!!

7am start up time, 8am shoot time

If you have anything from lamps to cool looking background props, bring them in anything would help!

 

Wow! Everything is looking awesome! I actually have a really neat lamp that we can use, and it's even already in London at my and Wolf's new place. I'm hunting to see what else I can find, but I'm going to head to bed now to catch about 4 hours of zzz's. Just FYI in case anyone checks it, the Toronto/Scarborough crew will be arriving hopefully before 9, due to the uncooperative TTC.

Wow, first to reply since shooting began! Well, no wonder, the weekend has been hectic.

I'd like to thank all the members, cast and crew from London, Toronto, and all over who came out to this. It was an honour to be a part of this production. It was great to see the fabulous costumers, costumes, directors, actors, and crew members which made this possible, and seeing all of you again, or meeting you for the first time. I'm sure we're all looking forward to the next shoot date!

 

Thank YOU ALL for making this weekend a success. Even though the shooting started late, I think it was for the best.

I couldn't have done it with out you all!

Nick, my grip, and though the boom ended up bouncing alot, without it would be lifeless Thanks!

Heath, you REALLY became the role and tool Polol into a direction that was more than perfect. You looked the part and did great!
Having your R2 unit here was amazing and well what can I say, he was amazing (Even though he was a slowpoke.)
Thanks for helping set up and bring down and giveing your fair shar of help, including sanding the blades and fixing the lightsabers!...Not to mention helping us actually GET them

Alex, thanks you for all your help! As everyone would agree your R2 is top notch and having TWO R2's was just so amazing Your props were sooooo coool! The binoculars were amazing and above any expectation I had! The pouches were awesome as well!

Allison, you did an amazing job, even though you thought your neck was long You and Deb really had that Chemistry and conveyed such emotion! Without you there would have been no Gaia and no costume for Deb And your costume RAWKED
Thanks as well for helping Deb with making teh Padawan accessories For Jake and I, it really helped bringing us into the Star Wars universe!

Scott, Your portrayal of your Character was great! The costume was so cool and unique...Thats all I'll say here

Jordan, your squeaky trooper armour also brought us into the universe much more, your actions were awesome! And you looked so darn cool! Thanks for helping with teh binocular scene as well

Matt, Your Derf was played to a tee and was great! You made the character, which to me was a footnote, become something more...something cool!

Deb, Without you this wouldn't have been possible. Months ago when I pitched it to you you helped it grow to where it was. Your editting and talen helped amazingly. Your acting was above par and was fun to watch. Thanks! I know you love your saber!

Jake, you stole the show. Aweing performance, great outtakes and a professionalism that was great! Without you helping me to keep positive I don't think we would have made it to this weekend.

Cutaways?

If you are around sure All help is appreciated

 

Cutaways = additional shots that may not be relevant to the story or action but allow for seemless editing. Rookie mistake is to not get cutaways...makes it difficult to edit. Also get different angles...really helps, sometimes running the scene so different shots over lap helps...

sorry you have got me in movie mode now...lol

 

*sigh* 14 1/2 hours of sewing on Saturday alone (only counting from the time I woke up) and I don't get in the Saturday picture

I loved watching everything on Sunday, I had a really good time. The costumes turned out very well, even if I was ready to throw my machine out the window at one point!

It was great being able to see everyone again, and to meet so many great people. All I've been able to talk about today is the fanfilm, driving some of my co-workers crazy and amusing others. I can't wait to see the finished film, and hopefully I'll be able to see most of you at the next shoot!

Oh, and Justin? when can I pick up my VCR? I want to see this episode of E Now I have on tape that apparently stars some people I know.....

John (The Wookie) Just told me Richard, my teacher who was watching us film said this: "Security was impressed and they said there would be no problem if you wanted to shoot more"

Actually that is really good news for you because though I haven't seen the footage yet I know that most productions often require people to return for small reshoots. Its a pain but if you want it to work its a requirement.

What an incredible weekend!

Matt and I are back in the city now, we left Justin's around 10 this morning and arrived around 1, as there was horrific rain along the way. We were watching Empire Strikes Back, repeating lines, and when Yoda says "Cannot get your ship out," Matt said along with him something slightly different by accident, it was quite amusing
