Well, everyone, we're all here safely, and having a blast. Mike, Scott, Darren, Nicky, Connor, and myself all go into town last night, and Duane joined us today 'bout 1pm. Taking things over, as we tend to do. Today we had the good fortune to escort Ray Park (Darth Maul), Daniel Logan (young Boba Fett) and Bonnie Piesse (Beru from Ep's 2 and 3) to their Q&A Panel. Might be having a drink with Ray tonight here in the hotel bar! Daniel's hellacool, and Bonnie is beautiful. We've all been reduced to a bunch of drooling fanboys.

We'll try to keep you updated but between panels and buying swag and drinking the nights away, we'll be hard-pressed to keep you home-bodies up to speed. Buffalo crew arrives tomorrow so Sunday morning hangovers are expected... later!!

I'll definitely have to do better tomorrow in the taking pics dept. I didn't get to take too many today.
On the plus side though, I did get all but a handful of the autographs taken care of already so I can spend the rest of the weekend trooping and getting sketches.

Speaking for myself, I had a great time. The swag was good, the guests were good, the beers were good. We met lots of great people: 501st, FF, Guests. I was psyched to find out that Dawn of the Dead (the original) was filmed at the mall around the corner! Too Cool!

As usual the SW guests were very cool, gracious to us, and fun. Though we never did get that drink at the bar with Ray.

We're all back home safe. Great con as always. This year was a little different for me as it's the first time going since we joined the 501st & Rebel Legion. So we spent much more time hanging out and meeting new fellow legion members than we did getting autographs, sketches and shopping in the dealers room. Which was probably a good thing as this way I didn't spend a penny at any of the dealer tables!

    And... YAY US!
The Rebellion scored 3 awards at the 2nd Annual FanForce Awards Ceremony this year!
Our chapter won the Leia Award which is the one that goes to the Chapter who has been actively involved in charity events within their own community and has contributed to their Chapter hometown in some way.

I was awarded the Padme Award. This one goes to the Best Chapter Rep in the Region. I am very honored to receive this one. Thanks to those who nominated me for this award and thanks to the RSAs who voted for me.

Then KnightShade was awarded the Liason Award. This one was a surprise to us as I hadn't noticed it in the program book, but basically it goes to someone who has worked hard at getting SW fans across the region from all the different groups (FF, 501st, Rebel Legion, etc) to join together for events.

Hopefully all the winners will be posted on the FF Award website soon, but here's some of the others that I remember...

C-3P0 (most talkative) - North Ridge
R2-D2 (best website) - North Ridge
    Chewie (fanfilm) - SWAP
Luke (most growth) - Fandom Philly
Queen Amidala (costuming) - North Ridge
Vader (forum banner) - Galactic Senate
    Yoda (highest service award) SWAP
Mon Mothma (large event planning) - Strawbary

I think that was all of them...

Some other weekend winnings - KnightShade and I won the ESB Yoda Gentle Giant bust at the collector's panel. DaniBelle won the big raffle basket that was at SWAP's table and MadKidJedi won and XBOX 360!

Hopefully I'll get to posting all the pictures later today or tomorrow.

Hopefully Rox will have the updates on the website soon. If you have any pics you would like to submit to have posted on the official website PM rox for details on where to email them :)

    congrats to all the winners!

thanks to rochester for coming out! I had a great time!

Ah, hadn't been to the CR forum yet this morning... And, I checked the NR Regional before posting here, but the list wasn't there yet - we must have been posting at the same time or something.

I'm about to attempt to upload my Pix from the weekend to my Photobucket account. If you wants to view, go to Photbucket.com, and look for account for "MadKidJedi". It will be in a side-directory entitled, strangely enough, "Pittsburgh ComiCon 2006". Look for it shortly...

EDIT: Final Pix are uploading now. Should be ready for your enjoyment by the time you read this. Yup.... just checked... they're done! Enjoy! Here's a link... I think...

No one from our groups placed in the costume contest... :(

For the adult category it was:
    1st Place: Batman Baddies group
    2nd Place: Starscream
    3rd Place: Aku (Samurai Jack)

All my pictures from that turned out pretty badly too. I had a bad seat, forgot the zoom lens and the battery was almost dead.

This is WAY late, but I just wanted to say it was fun last weekend. Great bunch of costumes, everyone! I loved meeting you all.

With regard to the costume contest, the winners were based mostly on performance, and not nearly as much on costume construction, etc., otherwise, I think Chewie would have taken it. That's the way it often goes, so the key is to have fun and not worry too much about the outcome.

MadKid, I loved the pic of the little girl hugging Chewie. That was adorable. The kids are what make it so fun!

    Thanks BobaChris12!

I just got an email that this site has posted a bunch of photos and a video of the costume contest. I haven't watched the video, but I know the photos look better than the ones I took from my seat.
