All right, so if nobody has any objections:

BOOK CLUB 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO

Where: The Boomtown Lounge

When: Sunday, December 3rd, 2006.

What: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.

Who: The book club members, old and new.

Why: 'Cause it's fun.

*bah! edited I thought the time suggested was 3:30, not 7:30! *

7:30pm would be ideal for me, I could probably make it a little earlier (like say 6:30), but I'm driving out to Banff that day, so having it in the evening works for me.

So guys..can't make it on sunday evening as I work from 4-9.

 

Unfortunately I won't be able to make the meeting either - I have to work as well.

Many sacrifices must be made - but it's all for C4!!!

Well folks - I have company in town this weekend and the hoped for free evening on Sunday looks like it is evaporating.
I hate to do this, but I'm thinking it will be easier to bail than try to cram too much into that evening...

There's quite a few of us who have said they couldn't make it... would Dec 10, 7:30pm at Boomtown work for more of us?

Yeah, it would be a little counter-productive to have the meeting without the person who suggested the book to chair the meeting. So it's agreed: we'll adjourn until the 10th.

The new book club book as picked by me is American Gods by Neil Gaiman remember everyone is welcome and books are fun .

 

I saw a large copy of the book, that had book club discussion topics in the back! Didn't get it though...

 

How's everyone doing on this one? Who all is actually reading it? I think we had a lot of dropouts from the initial group.

We seem to be meeting for book club every 3 months. The first book (Fahrenheit 451) was July-September, the second (Ender's Game) October-December. This seems to place the "American Gods" meeting in March. I hope to be done soon so I can pass the book off to veritate so she can finish it in time.

We need to meet somewhere that has mead on the menu.

 

I'm reading and I'm 180 pages in. I'm a slow reader so I hope we aren't meeting this month...

 

To give the book club some onus to finish, I propose setting the next get together on Sunday March 18 to discus American Gods.

 

I'm at page 524! Reading is fun!

 

I can be there on the 18th!

 

I think we need to reschedule. If Dooks would kindly pick a date/time we can move forward.

 

How does this date work for everyone March 28th? place to be determined or if anyone has a suggestion.
