FanForce General Banner Contest!

Entries will be judged by the FanForce RSA and GSA team.

The winning banner will be displayed in the FanForce Community Forum as well as Communications and any none official FanForce forum. The winner gets a custom "FanForce General Banner Designer" title. Only one banner submission per user, please.

This contest should offer an opportunity for some really creative designs. I know that the trend of late has been having a "Character Profile Montage". Here's a chance to do something different. We have some really talented artists here. There have been a lot of terrific entries in recent contests, and a winner has been hard to pick. I know that trend will continue. Remember, FanForce is much more than one forum and we would like to keep that feel of community. Please keep that in mind when creating your design

I just have 1 question/suggestion for ya Rox:

Why only one banner entry per user?
I don't see it becoming a problem if a user enters 2 or 3 banners (for example).
I personally get several drastically different ideas when thinking of designs that can't really be incorporated into 1 banner. I know the trend in other contests has been to set the limit of 1. Any possibility of getting a 2 or 3 limit?
If anything, this will cause a more diverse selection of banners to vote on.

 

I think I'll submit my Arbor Day banner, because hey, why not.

one per user makes is so there is no saturation of one user's design over another's. If you feel you work better doing more than one design, do so. Just your best one for final submission.

 

I can't wait to get home to photoshop...

That is very cool Ki-Bara-Mundi
I have a couple points:

The image of Qui Gon on the side looks kinda bland. His facial expression is just... weird

I'm not 100% sure about this (Rox will be able to confirm) but I don't think that "TheForce.net's Jedi Council" should be in there since this is not the Jedi Council, it's FanForce.
A title of just "Fanforce.net" is what Rox wants.

But still, the lettering in the title is superb. I like how you put Earth in there.

The blending and feathering is pretty much perfect.

I agree with atomik. Keep the cool "FANFORCE" part but remove the other lettering. That's the reason why we're making this banner.

 

That is correct...no JC stuff in this banner.

At the very least, I think it should say TheForce.Net since FF is a TFN initiative. The reason why I added "Jedi Council" was because we use the JC forums to host FanForce (otherwise we would never have moved from UBB). But since YJN said no JC stuff, I'll get rid of that bit.

Also a quick suggestion, spread the word about the banner contest. I don't think anyone from my FF forum visits FF Comms so I posted a thread there to let em know about it.

 

Yes we are both (FF and JC) under TF.N.
But the JC Forums and the FF forums are 2 very different entities. Different Mods, different forums, different posting styles, plus FF is about Real Life meetings and events.

Edit: Putting "FanForce.Net" is fine

The only suggestion I have, Ki-Bara-Mundi, is change "TheForce.Net's" to simply "TheForce.Net" and move that ship over to the right a bit. It's crowding the lettering. If you drop the "'s" that won't matter anymore though.

 

I think I'll give this a try......

 

Man i love the entry Ki, especially Jango and Obiwans ships, totally cool!!
