It's been quite a long time since I mentioned this, but I thought I'd take another crack at getting some new information on the FanForce USA Southeast page. How can we go about updating this.

I think we're missing an opportunity at getting new members by having that page be so out-of-date. Not only is Minacia still listed as our Regional Admin, but my humble group, the Orlando System, has never even made it on. Since this is the natural gateway from the main TF.n site to the FanForces, someone interested in finding a local resource is going to think there are only four chapters in the state of Florida, and that may not be halpful to them. I assume other states on that list might have similar inaccuracies.

Could we please push to have this updated? I mean no negativity- it's not something I've thought about for about a year- but I thought it should be brought up again. -Campbell

Quick glance at the page & I already see outdated info for Chattanooga as well. Who updates that page, anyway? :p (honestly, I'd totally forgotten about it! heehee!)

I've asked about it. Quite a few of those TFN Main pages are outdated and I agree with you completely that it's a missed opportunity to build membership.

I'll let you know what I find out. :)

    Sabacc, you are right on!

Traci, how about you PM the CRs and direct them to this thread and ask them to give their up-to-date information and then Hama can take that and fix that page. [face_batting]

    Each region should do this.

    I'll start:

CHARLOTTE, NC - "The Charlotte Separatists"
    Chapter Rep: Jada
    Email: charlottefanforce@yahoo.com

That's a great suggestion, Jada, and we'll definitely need all the latest Chapter info when we update the main pages. Thanks for posting yours and I'll encourage others to do the same. :)

UPDATE: The problem with the outdated TFN pages is that they are managed by TFN staff, not FanForce staff, and the TFN'er in charge of updating them appears to be MIA. Jedi_Dajuan is working hard on this and will be going to the site owner to get it sorted out. I'll keep y'all posted. [face_peace]

Yeah, they really need to have a Fan Force Admin in charge of the pages. Seems silly that the RSAs and GSAs can post articles but not update the other pages.

UPDATE: FF Administration has finally heard back from Philip Wise and begun the process of updating info for each region. It'll be slow-going, so continue to have patience, but it's progress. wOOt!

In the meantime, keep posting your info so we'll have it when they're ready to revise the SouthEast. [face_peace]

    HothLantaRebels

Yes we lost our website but the Yahoo group is still active and most of our correspondence occurs there. We also maintain a MySpace.

    http://www.myspace.com/hothlantarebels

If anyone is interesting in the group they can always shoot me an email (judy@HeyJudyArts.com) and I will make sure they have access to the Yahoo group. I'll check on the "Invite only" tag and poll about getting it removed if it is active.

We are running the club with very limited administration so..if the PTB reads this and needs info to insure we are up to date email me!

Meetings are the third Saturday of each month. Noon. Fudruckers, Windy Hill.

HeyJudyArts: It?s good to hear that the HothLantaRebels are still going strong. :) I?m not sure if we can link to a myspace page on the TFN main page. Let me ask about that.

Here are the FanForce rules and #6 defines the requirements for maintaining FanForce status.

    6) Chapter Forums
Chapters need to use their TFN forum often for event postings, chapter updates, and some socialization to draw in new members. The forum is the chapters main connection with FanForce. If a chapter only uses their forum to announce events, or does not use it at all, then the chapter will lose their claim on the forum, and their right to be called a FanForce. Off site forums are allowed, but they are not to replace the TFN forum. The FanForce administration cannot protect chapters as well if the bulk of what happens with the chapter is on a different forum and cannot help to settle disputes because there is no access to the forum, PMs, or the like.

If four weeks pass with no posts on the chapter forum or just event posting, the RSA will warn the chapter that they are going to lose their forum unless significant changes are made. Two weeks after that, the chapter will lose their forum and cease to be an official FanForce chapter. Four months with out an official meeting of some sort planned and the chapter will lose their official status, and then the forum.

Threads in the FanForce forums must have a purpose. If a chapter has a few social threads and topic threads (ie threads on Movies, TV shows, things to do in the city, etc) that is fine. But, the should be threads on club business as well not just social threads.

For the purpose of being called a TFN FanForce, only activity here on these boards qualifies. If you want to regain FanForce status, I?d be happy to start you a new board here but the above-mentioned rules would have to be observed. :)
