Big Star Wars line up -

    Dave Prowse (Darth Vader)
    Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett)
    Kenny Baker (R2-D2)
    Mike Carter (Bib Fortuna)
    Kenneth Colley (Admiral Piett)
    Garrick Hagon (Biggs Darklighter)
    Femi Taylor (Oola)
    Richard LeParmentier (Admiral Motti)
    Barrie Holland (Lt. Renz)
    Toby Philpott (Jabba the Hutt)
    John Coppinger (Wookiee Senator)
    Lightning Bear (Biker Scout)

I may attend this, I really want to meet Ken Colley again (last time I saw him was at a dinner with Michael Sheard) and also Garrik Hagon (Biggs).

    Anyone thinking of attending?

There is another event the same weekend which is very close to Bristol that could also be a meet -

    JOUST 2006

    "29 (Sat) - 30 (Sun) July 2006
    Berkeley Castle, Berkeley, Gloucestershire,
    Cost: £13 (adult) / £5 (age 4-14)

The UK's largest and most spectacular mediaeval festival! Join the feuding Lord Berkeley and his arch enemy Lord Talbot at the 850 year old Berkeley Castle. Full contact jousting, thundering sieges, concerts from the Mediaeval Baebes, booming cannon displays, real ales, pig roasts, wandering minstrels, noble knights and flirting maidens all combine in this festival of mediaeval mayhem."

I may try and make both, I am going to ask FF-UK Wales about this too :)

Cool stuff , that is two of us and a newish member of FFUK North who is coming too I believe :)
Midlands have shown interest and I think are organising themselves, I will talk to FFUK Wales and see if we can get them mobilised too.

Meeting of the clans maybe? :)

Anyone else from the South feel like a trip out?

    Cool :D

Well, I think I may have to really start booking this, one of the Dark Horse Comic writers is attending, I can't not let him go to a UK con and not be met by a DHC poster.

ROB WILLIAMS - Writer of the Dark Horse comic STAR WARS : REBELLION

Sounds like a laugh, is close to where I live and will be a great opportunity to meet other posters.

Going to be a good day indeed  :D
Welcome aboard Welshguy, I best make sure I can make it now lol. I am like 99% certain, but there is always the chance I get a job again that messes me up. But Friday night-Sunday should be ok still.

Strangly enough, whereas I thought I would be on holiday in cornwall, I'm actually going to be stopping off in Bath for a few days on the way back then

I'll see what I can do, but I think what we're doing has been pre-planned :(

    But we'll see :)

odj_310388!!!! Excellent! Well, aside for Welshguy and myself, I am not sure how many in the South can attend, but we have some from London, the North and I believe the Midlands is coming enmasse. So we will have quite a few people there, it'd be great to meet you  Two welsh members! Excellent :D

I don't mind the early birds option ;)

Anyone know of the best way of getting there? Car is out of the question and I'm trying for other possibilities now. Unless I stay there Saturday night, I'm looking unlikely

EDIT:eek:hhh yeah!! I have Monday off work! Perhaps I can make this if I can find somewhere to stay for Saturday and Sunday night. It will take 5 hours on the train if I go Sunday (then 5 hours back) but only 3 if I travel Saturday and Monday.. question is, how much is the hotel for 2 nights?

Tim, did you say you were staying in a hotel for this?

The EDF Energy Bristol Harbour Festival is one of the highlights of Bristol?s summer events programme, and the 2006 festival is set to be the best ever. An outstanding array of free entertainment is offered, including tall ships and other feature vessels, music, world dance, circus and street theatre, markets and a spectacular firework show.

Hi all, I just wanted to say how good todays event at Bristol was. It was my first ever SW convention/themed day and I thought it rocked. The stars autographing were really friendly (I got Dave Prowse,Femi Taylor Kenny Baker and Jeremy Bulloch's signatures) The UK Garison looked pretty cool - I was impressed and needa Stormtrooper armour set!!

I was there the whole day with one of the smaller dealers (a mate) and think I've caught the bug. Can anyone tell me if this event was average for a convention or good/poor, as I have no frame of refference?

Regardless, it was a great day, although the collector in me wishes there were more sellers.

    Thank you :)
