I know, I'd hate to ruin the seriousness of the franchise.

Every lore check you do is with two red die.

I don't do lore checks, Ender. I'm always the GM.

Can we get a Zuvio sourcebook, though? You know, for all of your campaign's Zuvio needs.

Well you could just make him from Forged in Battle, but I would give a custom knowledge check, like "Knowledge (Jakku jurisprudence)" or similar.

    Stats (ahem):
    Brawn: 2
    Agility: 3
    Intelligence: 2
    Cunning: 2
    Willpower: 2
    Presence: 1

    Wound Threshold: 11 + Brawn
    Strain Threshold: 11+ Willpower
    Starting XP: 90
They start with one rank in coordination.
They may also use a maneuver costing 3 strain to leap to any location in medium range.

Note: sweet hats or Jakkuvian staves aren't a racial feature.

His Stealth rating would be hella high.

Yeah, like he got given 50 bonus XP at start, shrugged, and started colouring in his "stealth" ranks bar on his character sheet.

"I want people to know of the constabulary, and that I am a constable of it; but to never see me. Like, they'll look for me, but never see me."

He should get a bonus talent that lets him earn credits from merchandising, but it never works.

So he spends XP to go into the Colonist: Entrepreneur career specialisation, but only first tier talents?

His Godfather Wedge stopped by with Tycho, Hobbie and Wes to pull his butt out of the fire. While Wedge complains that he's supposed to be retired and can't someone else do this, since he beat the Empire and all, before remembering how much he loves flying X-wings again.

I just realised that whilst I'm playing an F&D campaign during the EOTE empire period, I can't move into other careers or pick up new powers without a holocron.

    Sigh.

I suppose I could go into Artisan or Shadow for Force Rating 2, but I have influence - not move or enhance. So I'd be really good at hiding and confusing people...

    eh. That'll do.

Can't you convince your GM to allow your character to find a teacher from a non-Jedi Force tradition, there are some Legend ones you could use or s/he (or you together) could come up with your own? Or maybe steal one from the Fanon thread*, there are some fun ones there.

It feels setting appropriate to make a holocron a quest item. All I really want to do is drill down through the Sentinel specialisations - get deep in Shien Expert, then maybe some Shadow or Artisan for Force Rating 2. Powers wise, move, enhance and influence feel really appropriate for the era. So I'm ok with the limited approach of "you can explore your career, but more force powers = training needed".

Fanon is up there with fan fic is a wickedness I can't endorse. ;)

As a GM, if the players can find a narrative reason why it makes sense for them to begin exploring or developing a new power, I let them go with it. Some, including some skill trees (like the Lightstaber forms) I do reserve for events to unlock. My players so far have been creative and in character with their choices, and I reward that :)

To my understanding: yes. But you could possibly also find a washed-out but surviving padawan or low-ranking jedi with PTSD problems.
So you don't allow your GM to come up with anything new at all for your game? :p

I would argue though the backstory - a Kanan-esque Order 66 survivor on the fringe - never got a chance to really learn more than just using the force to hide in plain sight, which I do well (I'm about 30XP into Influence).

Though, now you mention it - two of the party are FS Exiles. Their gradual awakening the Force might be a good catalyst for me to argue those powers (Move, Enhance) are sort of "Force 101" powers and that I can try and remember them. Might be a 5XP penalty on top of base cost because I'm a little rusty... and then just limit growth in other career areas or something...

    Hmmm....

Or you could go for a middle ground- no teacher or holocron, but a handful of documents/holovids/training material that gives at least a basic understanding of the subject. Something the Empire missed, maybe contraband that can get the group involved in trouble...

Honestly, it looks to make an already complicated & time consuming game that much more complicated & time consuming. :p

I get that they are trying to add a whole new level of depth to the game for hardcore players, so I'm sure there is market for it. I just wish that they'd focus on larger & more frequent waves.
