This may be fleeting, but I do hope Allana and Tenel Ka will be able to get back together as mother and daughter by the end of this book. I have nothing against Han and Leia taking care of Allana, and I understand why the two were separated, but they definitely deserve to be together.

I also hope for Allana and Tenel Ka to be reunited. A two hour visit here and there doesn't cut it.

Where are the spoilers?? I need to know something before I reserve a copy at my library.

Well, I have something against Han and Leia taking care of Allana. I want Allana either with her mother or learning in a Jedi Temple and since I haven't been thrilled with the Jedi Order for a while I'll go with the former.

Speaking of the Jedi Temple, when are they going to return to the freaking temple on Ossus? I know Luke has removed the Jedi from Coruscant for the time being, but how long will that actually last? I don't think the temple on Ossus has even been mentioned once this whole series. At this point I'd be pleased if they just returned to Shedu Maad.

I mean hey, they've set up pretty much every other plot leading toward Legacy, why not this one?

I was under the impression that there's been a Temple on Ossus since the end of the Vong-war, with Tionne and Kam in charge.

There was, until Jacen/Caedus decided to use the students as leverage to get the Masters to cooperate with him, and only the timely intervention of Jaina, Jag, and Zekk stopped the slaughter of a bunch of them, with Tionne getting severely maimed and Kam getting shot in the chest in the process.

So they moved everybody and never really gave much detail in regards to returning the academy to Ossus after the crisis was over. Though I think there's something in Outcast maybe about the students still being in Hapan space...? Maybe...?

I hear what you're saying. I want Allana to be reunited with her mother too. The reason for them being separated in the first place was that the Royal Court on Hapes was too dangerous for Allana at the time. Here's hoping Tenel Ka managed to get things straightened out and put her foot down.

Ah. I remember the fight, but not that they moved the academy away permanently. I guess I've just assumed they moved the students back after the war.

With several people having read this book already, I can't believe that we've virtually no spoilers. :( It'll be out in less than 3 weeks and still nothing. Most books are completely spoiled by then. And I'm not just talkin here. Other boards are silent on the matter too. The only thing we've gotten is the opinion that it's a good finish to the series.

I love reading the spoilers and then all the talk about them afterwards...and then finally reading the books for myself to see how accurate everyone was. Spoilers may reveal plotpoints and such, I still like reading every word in the books. So, if you've read the book, stop holding out on the rest of us that won't be able to get the book for at least another 3 weeks. Besides, who knows if we'll even live that long. There could be a bus out there with my name on it. You wouldn't want me to go into eternity without knowing what happens would you....would you? ;)

I'm completely the opposite- while I'm always tempted to look at spoilers, I know the ultimate impact of reading the book will be lessened if I know the twists.

Discovered this the hard (but unavoidable, really) way- I hadn't touched the EU in about 10 years, after reading YJK, the Thrawn trilogy and duology, a few books in between, when I was in the 9-11 age range or so. Decided to give Star Wars a go again a few years ago when I was in college and had no idea where to start- picked up Betrayal at the bookstore, saw that it was the first of a series, and featured the Solo twins. Seemed like a good place to start.
And within one chapter, spoiled just about everything of interest from NJO. [face_laugh]

By the time I backtracked and finished NJO (which was, of course, not a light or fast undertaking), I'd pretty much seen in passing the spoilers for the end of LotF and knew about Mara and Jaina killing Jacen and all that.

So I'm determined with FotJ (as lacking as I've found the series, largely) to NOT spoil it ahead of time. And I've done well so far.

But like you, I am surprised by how tight-lipped they're keeping this one. Hopefully that is indicative of awesomeness. [face_mischief]

Call me Negative Nellie :p but I having a difficult time believing this book is so awesome that everyone decided to keep quiet on spoilers. I think VotF was the last book I went into spoiler free.

I think it might be. Most of the things spoiled first about the other books have been what people hated the most or stupid plot points. Maybe the lack of spoilers indicates nothing stupid or bad takes place in the entire novel...

...nah, we couldn't be that lucky. :p

I would actually kinda like to see a one-off novel covering this. Maybe pick up shortly after LotF and then make mention of Tenel Ka getting ready to take off for Klatooine at the end.

There's a preview, here. First pages of 30 chapters. It seems that initial Jedi attack on the Temple fails, Vestara get captured but escapes (or does she?), then throws a termo into Falcon where Allana is, and later fights Ben at the Font of Power.
    I'm somewhat intrrigued...[face_worried]

Oh, I have a difficult time believing it too, but I have to hold out SOME hope for redeeming this overall series for me. After the horribly paced, incredibly disorganized mess that was Ascension, only an awesomely resounding conclusion is going to do that.

Negative nellie (you asked for it).

At least there's probably not something like "Daala is Chief of State!". I'm sure that would have been spoiled by now.

Well, a threat that might or might not cost you "an eye or your life" seems to be a very specific threat, as compared to those threats which might simply cost your life or any body part in no particular order. Maybe it does have something to do with pirates?

Just HAD to post the preview? Seriously? :p

Didn't read the chapter starters- DID, however, read the DP. And I'm seriously confused - Wynn Dorvan as 'Acting Chief of State'?! Not Wynn Dorvan as 'Seriously-screwed-captive-of-Abeloth'?!

Can someone post the DP? That thing isn't working for me to click and enlarge the preview pages, so I can't read anything.

Because he is not, he is fighting her control, or something  If he isn't Sith, I call Stu.

So looks like Ves is evil. Good or bad choice?

Did Jag say "election day"? What is he running for?

I liked the use of the hands.

Thanks. Huh, Daala isn't listed. Wonder if she will be defeated quickly by Jag at the start.

Also no Fett. I figured we'd see him here, considering one of the mini-excerpts had Tahiri stalking him...

    An interresting preview !

From what I understand, (I may be wrong, since the informations are incomplete with only the first pages of the first 32 chapters):

    - The Sith take refuge in the temple after a failed attack from Jedi
    - The Lost Tribe attack Ossus
    - Tahiri becomes a hand of the Empire
    - There is an imperial election between Daala and Fel ( A new Emperor/Empress ? )
    - There is a duel between Ben and Vestara
