yeah, it's pretty bad when your uncle attacks you for a ring!Gollum freaks me out too,if I saw anything like that i'd shoot it.I have another scene I liked:When Boromir is attacking Frodo for the Ring and Frodo puts on the Ring to disappear,then Frodo kicks Boromir and drags him down the slope of the hill!

The Last Alliance was pretty epic...

 

One more before I go off to finish some homework: when Legolas jumps on the cave troll's shoulders and lets an arrow fly right through the top of its head...

 

you're right Trika... that was an awsome part!! That Legolas has some darn good aim...

 

The Last Alliance was indeed breaktaking, especially Sauron's appearance. I never thought that I could enjoy actually seeing Sauron that much, but it was truly amazing. They did him justice.

 

Since I guess saying "the whole freakin' movie" is not allowed, I guess I'll try to keep my list short

1. The introduction of the rings, with the Elves, Dwarves, and Men posing with their rings.

2. Elrond kicking ass and taking names during the Last Alliance. Where is Gil-Galad, though? I HAVE seen pics of him from the set, but couldn't spot him in the movie.

3. Bilbo and Gandalf's meeting. Bag End looked exactly as I'd imagined it.

4. Sam's face after he sees Rosie.

5. The fireworks...

6. Merry and Pippin: "That was good!" "Let's get another one!"

7. Minas Tirith.

8. The whole sequence at Farmer Maggot's.

9. The Nine riding out of Minas Morgul.

10. Orthanc.

11. Saruman and Gandalf's duel.

12. Aragorn staring at Frodo in Bree. Very reminiscent of the way Bakshi illustrated the scene in the animated movie.

13. "Let go of him, or I'll have at you, longshanks!"

14. "What about second breakfast?"

15. The Witch King saluting Frodo with his sword before going for the Ring. What a polite ghoul

16. Arwen's voice. I don't know if Liv did it, or if studio trickery was involved, buit MY GOD, she made me weak in the knees

17. Arwen's appearance to Frodo.

18. "If you want him, come and claim him."

19. Arwen's tears as Frodo starts to slip away.

20. Frodo's reunion with Bilbo.

21. Elrond and Gandalf discussing Men (get your mind out of the gutter )

22. Boromir, Legolas, and Gimli arriving in Rivendell. Maybe I'm reading too much into things, but Legolas looks particularly impressed to be in this legendary Elven stronghold.

23. Gimli trying to destroy the Ring with the axe, and Frodo's reaction.

24. The look on Gandalf's face when Frodo offers to carry the Ring.

25. "If with my life, or my death, I can protect you, I will."

26. "Right! Where we going?"

27. The Fellowship coming into view as the theme fanfare plays.

28. Boromir teaching swordfighting to Merry and Pip.

29. Saruman casting his spell on Caradhras.

20. The Doors of Moria. Beautifully done.

21. Gimli's reaction when he realizes the Dwarves of Moria have been slaughtered.

22. Pippin knocking the skeleton down the well, and Gandalf scolding him.

23. "They've brought a cave troll." Perfect delivery.

24. "Let them come! There's still one Dwarf in Moria who still draws breath!"

25. All the orcs scattering around when they hear the Balrog.

26. Legolas shooting orcs from the bridge.

27. Gandalf's confrontation with the Balrog. Brings tears to my eyes, even though I've known how that scene plays out since I was 10.

28. The Fellowship's reaction to Gandalf's death, especially Gimli, Legolas, and Pippin.

29. "The Dwarf breathes so loudly we could have shot him in the dark."

30. Galadriel

31. Legolas explaining the chant they hear is a lament for Gandalf.

32. Galadriel giving the Light of Earendil o Frodo.

33. The Argonath. DAMN!

34. The tearing down of the tres near Orthanc. I know a certain Ent who's gonna wanna have words with Sharkey later...

35. Frodo escaping Boromir at Amon Hen.

36. "Something draws near. I can feel it."

37. Aragorn calmly staring down the horde of Uruk-Hai facing him, and saluting Lurtz. I tell ya, these are the most polite warriors ever

38. Boromir saving Merry and Pippin.

39. Boromir recovering after being shot twice and still taking half a dozen orcs with him.

40. Merry and Pippin tearfully lunging at the orcs after Boromir falls.

41. Aragorn vs. Lurtz. On par with Obi-Wan vs. Maul.

42. The look of Legolas' face when he realizes Boromir is dying. Now THAT's a sad face.

43. "I will not let the White City fall, or OUR people fail."

44. "Be at peace, son of Gondor."

45. Frodo remembering Gandalf's words about making the most of the time we are given, and the resolve with which he jumps on the boat.

46. "I'm going to Mordor alone!" "Of course you are, and I'm coming with you!"

My favourite scene is the one when Gandlaf is trying to open the door to Moria, after saying, "If you are a friend, then say the password and enter." He makes it sound so simple, but then he himself can't open it. Then the scene cuts to show some time after, everyone has sat down patiently (and bored) waiting for Gandalf to open the door still!

 

"N-n-nothin' important! That is, I heard a good deal about a Ring, and a Dark Lord, and somethin' about the end of the world, but...please Mr. Gandalf, sir, don't hurt me! Don't turn me anythin'...unnatural..."


I just LOVE Sam....

But I really can't pick a favorite part, I love it all!

 

I'm kinda partial to the gag where the gatekeeper opens the peephole, looks out, sees nothing, bends over, opens another and sees the hobbits. Very funny.

I also like the whole pub sequence. Equally funny and suspenseful.

 

I thought the part where Boromir has three arrows sticking out of him and he still tries to get was very emotional.

 

Jorus: Gil-galad was seen during the Last Alliance battle (of course). He's only in it for a second or two, but he's seen thrusting his sword into an enemy that was brought to the ground. I can't really find the words to describe it, but hopefully you understand what I'm talking about.

 

Fave Scene?

When Galadriel gives the fellowship their gifts.

I also like when Saruman confronts the hobbits in the shire.

I completely agree. It was almost as if he was experiencing an emotional level totally foreign to humans... beyond absolute sorrow.

 

I loved every scene where Legolas got to do a really good expression, like when he sees Boromir dying and when he notices the balrog. What a great actor... I'll be watching his career with great interest.

 

Let me go about phrasing it this way, my friends: the only thing I did not utterly love about this film is the fact that Rosamund Pike was not in it.
