Well, there are too many characters I love to name, but as for characters I'd like to be, well... that narrows it down quite a bit, and I'd have to respond either Elizabeth Bennet or Thursday Next.

Barristan the Bold great (I have only read GoT at this point)...verbally smacks down the 'king' in front of his court, whups the people that try to arrest him, then disappears, all at the age of 60 or so (maybe even older.)

But I would have to say Tyrion Lannister, Sparhawk/Anakha and Rulke the Charon.

I have tons and tons of favorite characters, but at the moment my most favorite lit character (outside of Star Wars characters) would be Ron Weasley. I swear, every HP book that comes out, I have to get someone to check for me and make sure that Ron isn't dead by the end of the book. LOL I'm a sad, sad, little girl. ;)

    Waru :p

Hmmm, I am currently reading LotR and I enjoy Pippin quite a bit. Especially his interactions with Gandalf.

But I also am very fond of Prince Charming from Slay and Rescue.

    I'm sure there are more.

Ooh, this is hard! I'll leave out Star Wars characters, or the list would be very huge! :p

Achmed, from Elizabeth Haydon's Symphony of Ages books absolutly beats out everyone else, because he's that great.
Tayven Hirantel, from The Magravandain Chronicles, by Storm Constintine.
Saetan, from The Black Jewel Trilogy, by Anne Bishop.

Basically all the sarcastic characters from anything. :p Love the snark!

Well, since my literary world has of late revolved around all things SW and HP...then I have to go with Ron Weasley and Severus Snape from HP. And from all things SW...I have to go with Qui-Gon Jinn( I am reading a lot of JA stuff) and Siri and Tahl.

Also though in general...I love Armand from the Vampire Chronicles.

Oh, and having recently discovered Mercedes Lackey, I would say that I am enamored with Vanyel from the Magic trilogy.

Does anyone else find that in general they do not like the main character? Like I love Harry Potter, but I find his cast of supporting characters so much more interesting. Also goes for The Vampire Chronicles, though Lestat is a complex, interesting character, I like the rest of them as much or more.

Hmmm... top favourite would probably be Croaker from The Black Company and the accompanying series by Glen Cook, followed closely by Ged from Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea saga. A few steps behind both of them would be the older Prince Caspian of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis.

Onrack, undead 300,000yrs in House of Chains, his skeletal body falling apart, raises his one sword arm left against three hostile Tiste Liosan wizards, holds his ground. They had previously offered him to be their servant, assent to be indicate with a waist bow, and quickly.

The final Jaime scene in Storm of Swords 1 with prune-eating Bolton was intricately worded.

The entire Memories of Ice is shocking quality. The blabbering Kruppe. The genial necromancer duo. Foot-stamping Lady Envy. The fear of Anomander Rake, and his soul sword.

At some point in Shadows of Amn's expansion game, Sarevok snaps back at Imoen's taunting over his second death, saying she most likely keeps temples in business with the amount of money the PC player dumps to revive her so many times.

    Dunk of The Hedge Knight.

Why am I wasting my time listing names? I can give dozens!

    Only two of mine:

Eron Osa, Psychohistorical Crisis (Donald Kingsbury): What's better (or worse) than essentially getting sripped of your intelligence? Finding out that the hyper-intelligent ruler caste you were trying to whiz your way into are all wrong.

John SPARTAN-117, Halo novels: No comment needed.
