Saga Favorite characters from the Star Wars saga

R2-D2.

It's amazing how much personality is conveyed through him via simple movements and 'bleep' sound effects. He has no voice or face, yet he still manages to ooze tons of personality. The facets of his personality I love most are his courage and loyalty - whatever the situation is, whatever the danger, Artoo always rushes to the aid of his friends and always comes through for them. Seriously, in how many times in the saga do main characters have their asses saved by the little droid? I'd go as far as saying R2-D2 is the most useful character in the series.

To sum Artoo up I'd call him a 'feel good character'. He's a character that doesn't have to be taken too seriously, but you'll always find yourself smiling, laughing and cheering when he's on screen. For this reason R2 centred scenes (especially when he's with C3-PO where we see the best comedy in the series) are some of my favourites (the droids arc even happens to be my favourite arc in TCW).

Wowee this is hard. I have several characters that I love nearly equally, and it's hard for me to pick one over the other, simply because my "favorite" will change by the day. I suppose I will pick the best ones, and organize them by what they do for the story of Star Wars.

Anakin/Vader and Leia.

 

It's so difficult to say for sure... I love all the characters so much...

I adore the character arc of Anakin/Vader and can even relate to him at times.

I'm almost sure I would say Obi-Wan if not for the OT. Watch the PT and tell me you can't love the guy but all the events of ROTS changed him... and not in a good way (I mean, as a character, it's good change, yet at the same time it's disconcerting)

I could also say Palpatine. Who doesn't love a good villain? He's the only true villain in SW, not just some expendable pawn or a tragic fallen hero. The more I think about it, the more I think I'd be ok with him being "resurrected" somehow in the ST...
