Polls can be cool (and a colorful addition to the board). I hope they let us keep this feature too :)

Anyone want to explain to me why Lucas is a better director than Spielberg? C'mon I luv SW too, but isn't that a bit much? Spielberg is FAR superior in every aspect as a director.

I stopped liking Spielberg after he broke the record in '85 for "most actor/crew deaths" in one year by a director.

Hey Brian, you starting to feel like the lady who went into hysterics in "Airplane" yet? At least you did something different to keep us on our toes. Plus, it sparked up some new conversation.

And what about Antoine Fouqua (sp?)? Sorry, just wanted to use that name in a sentence.

I was trying to pick a variety of directors with a sizeable body of work from different periods and styles, off the top'a my spikes :D

And there's Luc Besson, Truffaut, Fellini, Lynch, Jeunet, Singer, Coppola, Aronofsky, Ridley Scott, to name a few more....

Poll format only allows you to give 10 choices....

Eric, I'll tell you why. Spielberg doesn't have lightsabers. Nothing will ever be as cool as Lucas' work for that simple reason. :D

Plus the fact that Spielberg always uses other people's ideas and stories for his movies. He may be good at directing but jeez...come up with something original.

Hey, Battle Beyond the Stars rocked.

What's even worse is the number of low-end crappy sci movies that followed that stole spfx shots from it. I can think of 4 right now.

It is so hard for me to vote on this. I like to think that I just love most of all the directors on this list. When I first saw the movie Citizen Kane I was mesmorized.
Tarantino brings such humor to subjects that many think shouldn't be humorous. George Lucas is so logical, and mystical, and so much rapped into one. I wish he directed more. In the end I voted for Speilburg. He has taken me on so many adventures. From Jaws, E.T., Close Encounters, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurasic Park(s) to Schindlers List, Saving Private Ryan. On one hand he is such a dreamer, but I like the humanistic ventures he has pursued recently.

No Shy Guy you voted for Kurosawa just like the other people that thought they were voting for Steven. It is a little confusing though. It isnt a very clear voting system, but if you look by the names you can see how many votes they have, til I cast mine Stevey had none.....
