I recommend Outbound Flight. Excellent backstory on Thrawn AND Jorus C'Boath, written by Zahn, himself.

    seriously though

darth plagueis is a good novel why?

i find the book depressingly cliche

"Palpatine was always evil, 100 percen evil, no character developmet at all"

then there is the rule of 2 botch up

The Crystal Star? really? I'm really intrigued by this as you're the first person I've come accross that can even mention that book without throwing up in the mouth. Props to you for being able to stomach it. =D=

Surely The Crystal Star isn't that bad? I've never read it all the way through myself, but I've always thought it sounds quite interesting, dealing with black holes and strange creatures from other dimensions.

In my humble opinion it's the Holiday Special of novels.

Yes. That's right. I went there.

Shadows of the empire is still the best Eu book out there. And Since the sequel trilogy is going to come out and render the post rotj eu null, it will be one of the few left intact. plus lucas said he would make a movie out of it if could have.
doesn't that technically make it g-canon?

Darksaber and Children of the Jedi come pretty close.... but not close enough!

It's been a while since I read it, but I remember thinking Children of the Jedi wasn't all that bad. Not brilliant, but not god-awful either.

    It's pretty bad actually.

But that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining.

No D6/D20, but more online RP and fanfiction, and my writings showed a lot of West End Games influence in that my character utilized an R6 astromech 'droid rather than the dime-a-dozen R2 units, peppered his speech with Olys Corellisi, and carried a Calli-Merced Series III blaster pistol.
