JCC Favorite Hotel Chain?

What’s everyone’s favorite hotel chain?

Personally, I like Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, and IHG the best, but Choice Hotels has some good hotels, such as Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, & Sleep Inn, and some hotels where you don’t know what kind of experience to expect, such as Quality Inn and Econo Lodge. Same with Wyndham.

 

Why is Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Group not on this list?

 

Did Beezel come back in a sock?

 

Which group are they? I normally stay at Langhams (and Marriotts when I'm a philistine...)

 

I like the ones with them waffle machines.

 

The ones with the free, hot food.

Ah, above my paygrade -- though I was in one of the suites for a couple of hours one time and... it's nice. And c'mon, Langham is respectable!

But yes, I'd rate the Peninsula one of the best hotels in the world...

 

Bates Motels are pretty fine.

Staff are friendly and willing to own mistakes.

I got an extra night because the shower was a mess when I first checked in.

 

Of the ones listed I chose Hampton Inn over Holiday Inn because it just seemed to be better quality for the price...

Locally here I like Okura Nikko Hotel, small rooms but nice and great dining every time I've stayed at one of the hotels.

 

The one on the door that stops people breaking into your room.

I avoid Super 8, because they’re not very clean. And even though they’re an economy chain, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be clean. And Ramada isn’t so great either. They try to be a good quality hotel like Hampton and Holiday Inn, but ultimately it fails in the end.

 

Why do you ask?

 

Because I’m interested in everyone’s opinions

A La Quinta Inns & Suites executive once told me that the English translation of "La Quinta" is "next to Denny's."

 

If so, a pretty terrible one.

"Okay Gil, we want you to go deep undercover on a Star Wars message board, the JCC. You're to make good with the locals, ingratiate yourself. Leave no stone unturned. You have my full backing!"

"So I'm getting my big break? I'm going to cover the Josh Boyle captivity, release, and subsequent capitivity? This is a dream come true! Pulitzer, here I come! Thank Chief, I won't let you down!"
