Saga Favorite / Least Favorie of the Originals vs. Prequels

So what's better? Your favorite of the original trilogy or your favorite of the prequels? Your least favorite of the original trilogy or your least favorite of the prequels?

For me, (I'm sorry) ROTS > TESB but TPM < ANH

 

My top two are Jedi of OT and AotC of PT. TPM and ESB tie for worst/dullest.

Least Favorite: Return of the Jedi

Favorite: Revenge of the Sith
Least favorite: Attack of the Clones

Best favorite OT vs PT:

Revenge of the Sith > A New Hope
Best least favorite OT vs PT:

Return of the Jedi > Attack of the Clones

 

I'd put ROTS > ESB and AOTC > ROTJ

However, I love all of the movies so the differences between fave/least fave are in very small degrees.

 

ESB is better than ROTS.

And an infected hangnail is better than TPM/AOTC. So I guess ROTJ is better than them too.

My opinion is constantly changing, but I'd put it as:

1. Return of the Jedi
2. Revenge of the Sith
3. The Empire Strikes Back
4. A New Hope
5. Attack of the Clones
6. The Phantom Menace

 

Favorite: Attack of the Clones > A New Hope
Least Favorite: TPM > Return of the Jedi

 

PT = AOTC

Arty, elaborate, skewed, different. Pulpy adventure at war with itself, being also very tortured and dense.

Interesting self-enclosing metaphor: Anakin thrashing around in bed, Anakin trying to break free of robot arm in droid factory.


OT = ROTJ

Slick family-flick closer. Irreverent farce mixed with Biblical sobriety. Curious chamber drama in space.

Interesting self-enclosing metaphor: Rancor keeping weeping over lost pet, Ewok weeping over lost friend.


But honestly, they're all my favourites.

 

It's tough, because the more I watch these movies the more I see them as equal parts of a whole.

ANH > ROTS I suppose. AOTC had actually been growing on me a ton lately though.
