She is amazing in Leon the Professional. Simply stunning work. As much as I love her being in Star Wars, this is her best work.

Leon was by far the best performance, it caught everything, playfulness, true emotion, coquettishness and (no pun intended) professionalism. And all of that from a very young girl. I can only hope the rumors of a Luc Besson sequel prove true, Mathilda

Beautiful Girls comes a close second. She almost stole the movie from all of those veteran character actors, but that's the problem w/ a movie filled w/ character actors, no central presence to rule the film. IT was a good film none the less, but it needed something to hold it all together, not just Natalie.

Where the Heart Is was only pulled off because of the abilities of the two main characters, Natalie & Ashley Judd. The premise was so over the top, I could never understand why this was a bestseller, other than Oprah said it should be. It did show off the talents of two of the best actresses working today.

I've seen her in WTHI and TPM and that's it. Both preformances were good, but I think that I liked TPM better.

I voted for The Professional. She was amazing in that. TPM would be second, then Anywhere But Here.

Here's how I rank the films she's been in that I've seen:

    Attack of the Clones
    The Phantom Menace
    Anywhere But Here

And here's how I rank her performances in them:

    Attack of the Clones
    Anywhere But Here
    The Phantom Menace

I'd like to see Beautiful Girls and The Proffessional, as it looks like she gave her best performances there.

One note, Sots. Be sure to see the complete version of The Professional, and not the original American release. There's about 30 minutes more footage on it, and most of it is character-building between Leon and Mathilda.

I was already aware of that version, but thanks anyways.

My favourite Nat Portman performance is definitely Leon. But as for favourite Nat Portman movie? Attack of the Clones, without a doubt. Her acting was just so/so, but what a great flick!

Aaaargh how can you do this to me?
If you mean heat, the film with pacino and de niro then it's an amazing film which I didn't know she was in. How anyone can vote for Leon, I don't know as it is an empty film, exciting lots of Boom Boom, but empty it tries to be intelligent with the introduction of milk, a plant and his code but falls short between genres, sorry. Why no one voted for beautiful girls is beyond me it is an excellent script etc.. yadda yadda this is getting long. (perhaps that should be yoda yoda)

Natalie Portman's stellar performance in "Leon" is definitely not "empty".... but, I'm not going to bore you guys with a lengthy attempt at an intellectual critique as to why "Leon" is not an empty movie.

Especially in light of the grating negative criticism on our beloved AOTC, I've just about had enough of movie critics!

The Phantom Menace. I also liked "Where the Heart Is." How come AOTC isn't up there?

I just saw that movie last night and thought it was great. Her acting at that young age was fantastic.
