I honestly can't pick one single favorite, because it's a tie among Superman: The Movie, Hook, E.T., and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Superman does have my single favorite JW theme of all time, though, so I think maybe that one gets the edge.

Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Hook, Harry Potter, Jaws, and countless others all have great tracks. But for me, the top honors for best non-Star Wars soundtrack by John Williams would have to go to Jurassic Park. It's just that everything about that soundtrack is awesome, in my opinion. The action tracks are good, that one march-like theme sums up the sense of awe that the movie inspires, and the main theme is possibly my all-time favorite Williams theme, at least as far as the slower, more melodic themese go. I love the Jurassic Park soundtrack.

    1)SUPERMAN:
    2)RAIDERS
    3HARRY POTTER
    4)JAWS
    5)CLOSE ENCOUNTERS
    6)JURASSIC PARK

Superman is just a magical score that showed us all what Superman can do..a very powerful score, and one of the best main title sequences ever.

Probably "House of Flying Daggers" and " Collateral". Shigeru Umebayashi is the best foregin composer out there.

The Lost World. I loved the main title and the percussion-centric action cues so much that I enjoyed the movie to pieces even though it wasn't that great.

Raiders is great from start to finish.

E.T. is emblematic of his post-Jedi scores for my taste -- absolutely unrivaled in spots, just OK in others.

    Raiders of the Lost Ark,

    Raiders March obviously,

The Map Room, sounds mysterious, but captures the aspects of the scene perfectly,

Airplane fight, starts out slow but has a good action pace to it.

Hook (the first film I ever saw in the cinema. I was blown away by both what I saw and heard)

    Jurassic Park
The Lost World (I particularly love the main theme, it contributed to the darkness of the film and made it a far grittier adventure movie)

    Superman

The Indiana Jones Trilogy (so many great themes! The Raiders March, the Ark Theme, the Marion love theme, the Slave Children's theme, Short Round's theme, Willie's Theme, the Holy Grail theme and the 'Keeping up with the Joneses'. Who doesn't love Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra?)

I also liked E.T., A.I. and Schindler's List but they didn't stick with me as much as the above.

By the way, in Empire of the Sun there's a track 'Exsultate Justi'. Is that a JW composition or is it actually a religious hymn? I googled for it a long time ago and found various versions of the choiral song.

I don't have an official confirmation but I think it's a unique JW comp because of the way it's used in the end credits. More dynamic than anything traditional.

the opening theme of Harry Potter and some of the other tracks throughout the movies, I like the opening of the movies because of the high tinkly music, it just sounds good, i like all kinds of tinkly music, that's why I like the opening theme of the exorcist even though i don't think john willliams wrote it

I can't really say I have a favorite. And I would just be listing what most others listed, wouldn't I? ;)

But really, I guess it's Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park... although I do agree that Schindler's List is haunting. So there you have it...
