Favorite "old" Nickelodeon show

In all honestly, I want to vote for You Can't Do That On Television. However... the show started before I was born and I only have some vague memories of it.

Now the two Nick shows I remember the best and had to pick between were Hey Dude (of which I've seen EVERY episode) and Are You Afraid of the Dark. Ultimately I went for the latter as I have find looking back on that show more enjoyable.

I actually remember Are You Afraid of the Dark. Good show, had a Twilight Zone element to it.

 

I still know the themesongs for Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude.

Classic Nick

Recently I was going through my VHS tapes and stumbled across one that had 4 episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark on it. I really need to sit down and rewatch those.

 

This was a hard vote for me. I remember and love ALL of those shows. Ultimately I chose Clarissa, though it just barely edged out Hey Dude and Salute Your Shorts.

 

This was a VERY hard call since I grew up on this stuff and my all time fav. Nick show, Cities of Gold, wasn't on the list. I went with You Can't Do That On TV simply because of my fond memories of the show.

 

Adventures of Pete and Pete and Clarissa Explains it All is on Noggin, now, so I guess that's why I know about them, but I do like Secret Life of Alex Mac.

Are you afraid of the Dark was so cool that I still remember the plots of some of the episodes...
that show scared the sith out of me when I was about seven...

 

Definitely You Can't Do That On Television

I grew up watching that show, and I remember how much our parents hated it. I was the same age (or maybe a tad bit older) of the kids on the show.

Barf was the best character ever - DIIIIII Hear'd That!

 

Hard, hard choice.

I love Hey Dude (saw every episode at least twice), but I have to go for You Can't do that on Television.

I miss that show a lot.

Nickelodeon has totally lost it's flair, and the glory of it's old days.

 

Unfortunately, I agree, JacenHornSolo.

The shows on today just do not compare. Especially when it comes to the cartoons. I mean, they are so blah. Doug, Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy... those were great cartoons. Poor kids of today...

The best of all was the original You Can't Do That on Television. The "other" cast was stupid. I'm all for Lisa Ruddy, Kevin Kobocheski( or whatever), Christine, Dougie, and of course the man and woman who played ALL the adult roles !!!!

Quite frankly, I don't. Jedi_Riibu told me about it though, and so I included it as the 10th and final show.

Perhaps I should've put up Pinwheel and PicturePages. I remember those.

 

I thought Are You Afraid of the Dark was the best, but what about Rocko's Modern Life I don't see that on Nick anymore and that's my favorite cartoon.

 

You Can't Do That on Television. I'll never forget the kids getting slimed!
