    What is your favorite RPG?

Mine would have to be Xenogears.

Quite simply Planescape: Torment PC The best story and writing in any video game, and many movies, memorable characters that travel with you on your quest for self discovery. An amazing journey that everyone should experience at least once. Check out this for a taste of the glory.

I also have great memories with Chrono Trigger SNES and Baldur's Gate I and II PC Although both are totally different games (One's a Japanese style RPG, the other D&D based) they are still both favorites of mine.

My inner Nintendo also loves the Mario RPG series. Multiple Systems I can't help it, I love the little buggers. :D

And finally the KOTOR series PC/Xbox. What is really just an average RPG, turns into greatness with great voice overs, presentation, and having the Star Wars "feel". ;)

Although I have never played Xenogears, I have just heard good things, both from reviewers and friends. The story looks interesting and I hope to one day check it out.

In no particular order (I mean, I could put them in order, but all of them are just outstanding any way you slice it.):

    Xenogears
    Suikoden II
    Chrono Trigger
    Final Fantasy VI
    Final Fantasy VII
    Final Fantasy X
    Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy Tactics (I think it counts as an RPG)
    Knights of the Old Republic
    Skies of Arcadia
    Suikoden
    Super Mario RPG

Jeez, that's twelve. I had only planned on ten... whatever. :p

Neverwinter Nights. The main story sucked. But the expansions redeemed the OS. But thats not why I list NWN as my favorite. It's the MOD community, online community and toolkit that puts the game ahead all others. The total package was just phenomenal. There are hundreds of MODs to download and free online servers to join. It's the game that just keeps giving, there is just so much it has to offer.

My second would have to be Baldurs Gate II: Shadow Of Amn. Followed by Guild Wars (RPG not a MMORPG).

I enjoy both the KOTOR games, 1 more than 2. Also a big fan of Final Fantasy 7, but haven't yet played any of the other games in the series except a bit of 10. 7 is supposed to be the best though, and I hope the rumours of a PS3 remake are true. (My bank account hopes they aren't, because I'd have to buy a PS3. [face_laugh])

My all time favourite RPG is Chrono Trigger, no doubt about it. KOTOR and the Mario RPGs (Super and Paper) are close behind.

    Suicoden 2
    Final fantasy 7-10
    KOTOR series
    Morrowind (With all expansions)
    Guild Wars
    Etc...I can`t remember tired.

    In that order I guess.
Morrowind Construction set is 2 complicated 4 me...
Even with da walkthroug on how 2 use it...
I think I have an error with da construction Set,so that
pisses me of every time I try to use it.

Yeah, good games...Wasted alot of my life on them.

Going to have to go with the fanboy opinion and say FFVII. Sephiroth is still the baddest bad guy of them all. But there are too many good RPGs... way too many.

Someone mentioned Planescape: Torment... I CAN'T FIND THAT GAME! *cries*

I remember I bought Temple of Elemental Evil, thinking it was Planescape... (don't ask, it was an extreme moment of confusion)

As for my most played RPG, I think I have like 65 hours logged on Xfire for NWN, but it should be around 130 if not more. I got really addicted, really quick.

FF Tactics. God! I love that game. It got me interested in Tactical RPGs and generated the style of anime drawing I used for years (I'm just now trying to get more realistic). The plot was deep and involving, and I love the way you're never really sure who the real bad guy is until you hit the Murond: Death City battles. And the Cloud cameo was awesome for an FFVII fan (I wouldn't say fanboy because I can ackowledge the game's non-graphical faults). Too bad it couldn't generate a worthy sequal. FFT Advance was (in retrospect probably) a decent RPG, but it was trapped in the shadow of its predecessor. I didn't have much problem with the plot, but the clans and crappy-looking species (I'm talking about beefy, but chicken-legged bangaas), and especially the Law System (WTF? Violent murder is legal, but if I do it with a sword, I can get imprisoned?) There's a VGCats somewhere that almost expresses my confusion over the Judges, but I'm too lazy to try and find it.

2nd Best would have to be Fire Emblem for GBA. The first one. That was sweet, even if it was ungodly difficult at times.

Yeah, I haven't played many, but my favorites must be the KOTOR series, Deus Ex, and Grandia II. Then again, those are basically the only ones I've every played all the way through.

Yay! Someone else that's played Grandia II! Was the final Valmar (the one with about five different parts you could kill) really hard for you too? I loved/hated that boss!

As for favorite, it would be a tie between that, KOTOR, and Paper Mario 2. The last has the best dialogue ever.
