    The FV-35 JSF. Oh, you mean SW fighters and not American advanced fighters. Well, I'd say a K-wing for the obvious reasons of:

    -Redundant shields
    -Speed
    -Thrust Vectoring ass-kick'n third engine
    -18 hardpoints for any weapons
    -T-33 plasma torpedos. 'Nuff said.

    Chiss Clawcraft if you're going into battle but for old times sake the X-Wing is the best, X-Wings are the only starfighter to get a whole comic series and a book series about it. The TIE Advanced and the TIE DEfender as wellas the E-Wing will do in a pinch
