Don't think I'll be with my family (accept for my dad, RIP, who will be there as a Force ghost ), I'll be at the Ziegfield Theatre in NYC at a midnight showing surrounded by dressed-up freaks wose than me No one to embarrass

 

the Mystery Box having it's maddening Vader-like grip of power over another sci-fi fandom group, I saw it happen with the Trekkies and it now happens with Star Wars fans.

 

New novelizations!

 

That the Prequels won't be the last Star Wars movies I will see in the theatre!

 

Let's see...

-The idea of taking my nephew to the theater to see a new Star Wars movie for the first time. Yes, he was born in 2005, but when his sister saw ROTS he was still in the oven.
-Three more chances of doing a Midnight Showing in full costume...which I *still* have not done.
-Jedi. Master. Luke. Skywalker. I know when he comes on screen I'm going to squeal like a little girl, because a dream I've had since picking up a 'Young Jedi Knights' book and reading about Luke as a Jedi Master will have finally come true.
-A whole new John Williams soundtrack!!!
-Something new to discuss with fellow Star Wars nerds *besides* TCW and EU novels.
-The evil glee of knowing that NJO will officially be non-canon (good riddance to the Vong, Darth Caedus and the death of Chewbacca!)

 

Who their kids are, and if they will take after their parents, too.

 

- Being able to take my stepdaughter, who I turned into a SW fan and will be 9 when it comes out, to see it.
- More JW SW music can never be a bad thing. (And to think I was worried about him making it through the last trilogy. I'm biting my nails this time around for him to be able to see this one through.)

Beyond that I don't really want to take anything for granted, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be plenty more that I can add to this list when all's said and done with.

Finally seeing Luke as "the Obi-Wan".

 

- Just getting more SW movies to enjoy for years to come... adding to and enhancing the Saga.
- Seeing them in a theater with my kids. Currently my son is a big SW fan, but my daughter is warming up to it too... so I think she may want to go with us (I'm already pretty sure my wife won't want to go, so no embarrassment factor there ).
- Discussing it here with you all.

 

Being able to discuss the ST with everyone on here will be a change from the PT days. Just had my parents, my cousins and some close friends to discuss those movies.

The death of Han Solo! C'mon we're all thinking it

1. Just the fact that the story continues.
2. New John Williams music.
3. Hopefully an overall darker tone, like ESB amd ROTS. The LOTR movies, hopefully!, have shown the creators that you can have a "serious" toned trilogy and still make a billion bucks. Enough with selling it as a light hearted fairy tale-side note: most fairy tale's are quite dark
4. More cool weapons/characters-remember 1st time those doors opened revealing Maul and the double blade?
5. Wipes out most EU

 

The EU is awesome! why all the hate

If he's not there, I will be extremely pissed

 

Hope to see a Shipyard or a scene take place on a crashed ship on a planet or a derelict in space.

Sorry for your loss, but it is cool that your Dad will most assuredly be there with you [as Force Ghost]. He will be thinking that he would like to be solid again one more time just to experience "being embarrassed" as something you did (and chuckling inside knowing he is proud of you).

I want to hear the theme song start up and read the storyline travel up across the screen, in anticipation of what is to follow. I will chose to love it the first time I see it, then hold any criticism (IF ANY) for the second or third viewing.
