Alas, many of us aren't just fans of Williams' amazing scores as a whole. The score to Star Wars made a lot of us appreciate movie music and opt for the double LP or the endless re-recordings that were available or only what was accessible at the time. We can love the "Main Title/Blockade Runner", "The Imperial March" or even "Sail Barge Assault"...

But what are your favourite 10 score cues from any other movies apart from those from the Star Wars saga?

*Symphony No. 2 - The Romantic (Alien - Howard Hanson)
*March & Love Theme - (Superman: The Movie - John Williams)
*Humanity - Part 2 (The Thing - Ennio Morricone/John Carpenter)
*Fratelli Chase - (The Goonies - Dave Grusin)
*Main Title: The Trioxin Theme (The Return of the Living Dead - Francis Haines/Matt Clifford)
*Far From Home/E.T Alone (E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial - John Williams)
*Hellraiser & Hellbound Main Title - (Hellrasier/Hellbound: Hellraiser II - Christopher Young)
*The Miracle of the Ark (Raiders of the Lost Ark - John Williams)
*Zuul Suite & Main Theme (Ghostbusters - Elmer Bernstein)
*L'alba Dei Morti Viventi (Dawn of the Dead - Goblin)

OK, I won't cheat and use any "End Credits" tracks.

"The Enterprise", Jerry Goldsmith, Star Trek:The Motion Picture
"Desert Chase", John Williams, Raiders Of The Lost Ark
"The Map Room/Dawn", John Williams, Raiders Of The Lost Ark
"Come Una Sentenza", Ennio Morricone, Once Upon A Time In The West
"The Breaking Of The Fellowship", Howard Shore, LOTR: The Fellowship Of The Ring
"Give Me Your Names", John Williams, Schindler's List
"Liberation: Exultate Justi", John Williams, Empire Of The Sun
"One Day", Hans Zimmer, POTC: At World's End
"Foundations Of Stone", Howard Shore, LOTR: The Two Towers
"May Day Jumps" (Bond Theme), John Barry, A View To A Kill
"The Lighting Of The Beacons", Howard Shore, LOTR: The Return Of The King
"Knock The Cover Off The Ball" (prefer "The Natural", but that track wasn't used in the film), Randy Newman, The Natural
"The Blimp Turns Around", John Williams, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade

Damn, that might be more than ten. I'd better stop now.

The only soundtrack I listen to outside of SW OT is Raiders of the Lost Ark and from that I would say that Opening Credits South America, The Truck Chase and The Map Room are my 3 favourties from it. The Map Room in particular is epic and biblical. The opening credits take me back to the time I first watched it on video rental when I was about 9 or 10 and that opening score I thought was really creepy. The Truck Chase is perfect for that whole scene, one of the best continuous action scenes ever with a score that fits the tempo of the action.

Williams' score for that is faultless - like SW, ESB, Superman: The Movie and Jaws before it. Even his score for 1941 had some cracking cues.

That run of films is amazing and the consistent quality throughout them is testament to how good he is. I'm looking forward to the ST and I'm sure we will see him taking his cues from the OT with the returning characters.
