Hi, I've been testing my new miniDV camera and I've wanted to film some shots on my own. And here's the result of my work - first person short film called Fear. It's nothing special, but i would like to know what you think about it.

    http://infinity-lab.ic.cz/films/fear/FEAR-lowq.mov (20 MB)

It's low quality version, but if you show some interest, i'll upload HQ version.

Now this is a great little flick. It?s like first person shooter meets blair witch. I?m impressed? I?d call this more an example of your sound mixing than your camera work.

I LOVE films that take care of the camera. And you did that! It's one of the best movies I've seen on the internet, lately. It was technically quite good for what it was. I suppose it took you less than a day to make! Applause! The first time you (I suppose you were the only one working on it) hit the ground was NOT the guy with the axe, right? You fell over, right?

Very well done. The sounds were not really worldized at times, but who cares. It was a dream! You should really have gotten somebody to shake the camera when you had the axe in your hand, though.

I'm going to do it tomorrow [face_peace]

Yes, Blair Witch was my inspiration + Doom (the movie) FPS scene...

    Yes, I fell over ;)

Hmm, I propably should...but you know - I'm to lazy to go to the forest again, shoot one scene and then go back...[face_laugh]

One hour shooting + cca one day editting...

Well, I wanted to use the sound of crow or raven, but I couldn't find any suitable sound effect...

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR REPLIES, i really appreciate it

I kept wondering if this had anything to do with the game F.E.A.R.. [face_mischief]

That was pretty good, excellent sound design, even the simple funhouse sounds added that slipping-into-madness feeling.

Although I like the organic 1st person camera feel, I think there is too much movement. I would have toned that down a bit.

And, that was alot like the video game F.E.A.R.

Thank you all for your comments.
However, it wasn't really my intention to make it look like F.E.A.R. [face_peace]

Understandable. Rather than drawing on the same influences I believe the comparison between the two is the attempt to evoke the similar experiences.

Still, a fan film may be fun if only for the byline "F.E.A.R.: from the Director that brought you FEAR".

I really liked this movie. The sound was excellent. I can't remember ever being freaked out by a fan film or short film posted on the boards ever before. Nice job.

This comment made me sigh and not want to watch this movie. Just a little tip fyi, if you don't care about your film then I know it won't impress me.

A bit too much fast camera movement in some places for me personally, but apart from that, I thought it was really good.

    Very impressive.

Eventhough it was a bit disorienting (I have no idea how to spell that correctly) I really liked this movie. It's original and pretty tense. I guess that you accomplished what you wanted and put a little fear in the viewer.

    Good job, mate.
