All right, so in this fantasy series called A Song of Ice and Fire (excellent series, but heavy on the sex, violence, and foul language--only pick it up if you're sixteen or older, kiddies!), there's a society of nomadic horsemen called the Dothraki. They're all but born in the saddle, and use horses so extensively that their best warriors, while virtual combat gods when mounted, were very bowlegged on their own feet.

So I wondered if something similar could be done for the cramped, uncomfortable, confined space of a starfighter...

    Born To Fly
You were all but conceived and born in a starfighter cockpit.
Requirements: Pilot 4 ranks, Starship Operation (Starfighter)
Benefit: When piloting a starfighter, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to Dexterity and Constitution, as well as a +2 competence bonus to all Pilot checks and Initiative rolls. When not in a starfighter, your unarmored speed is 2m slower than is normal for your species and you take a -1 penalty to all combat-related rolls while on your feet.
Special: You may only take this feat as a 1st-level character.

Naturally, this is a feat mainly for a campaign heavy on the space battles and especially the starfighting, but it could also be used to develop a character willing to take a few penalties outside of a cockpit.

    Thoughts? Comments?

I like the pentalty attached to it. It's a cool feat that isn't too powerful but at the same time very advantageous.

I like it more as a near-Human species trait for a low-gravity world, rather than a feat.

    In addition...

The +2 INIT bonus is redundant and "breaking" IMO -- the +2 DEX is ALREADY a +1 INIT, so the +2 INIT == +3 total INIT. This is also, IMO, why Jedi cannot do anything to increase their initiative BESIDES Enhance Ability (DEX). Being able to act faster (or decide when to go) is a huge, HUGE advantage which should only be given as species bonus (never higher than +1?) or by burning a feat (which is a huge +4 advantage).

In addition, for a low-gravity species, you could say that the bonuses apply when gravity is 0.8 on planet or less or when in a cockpit (when it can be adjusted for you), but on normal G worlds (0.8 < x < 1.2) you receive the normal penalties you list above or on high G worlds the normal heavy G penalties are multiplied by 1.5.
