If you didn't read this on the Delphi forum or at the end of the January thread, the February Fan Day (aka Fan Day XXI, Chef Wars) will be hosted by yours truly, and my compatriot Sandwich Boy.

The date is tentatively set for Saturday, February 17. I know this isn't Fan Day but we all have school and work and things.

To reiterate the basic summary of events, it will run pretty much like David's Iron Chef party this summer did. Everyone should bring one dish, pick a theme ingredient if you want. This will result in one big, amazing potluck dinner and large amounts of eating. Then we will watch some of the trilogy or TPM, and Iron Chef, and hang about a while. If anyone wants to bring things to do (ie Queen's Gambit), that would be great too!

So, here's the executive summary for lazy people:

    * For each guest, bring some food.
    * When RSVP is made, please let us know of any dietary restrictions or food allergies, etc, so I don't end up killing you by accident. That would be bad.
    * Please RSVP soon...so far I've heard from one person. I need to know how many people -we're- cooking for.
    * Bring fun things if you wish.
    * If you need directions, e-mail myself or Sandwich.

Hope to see you all here!

Well, I'd like to come but you know my habit of burning kitchens down trying to cook

I could go over sooner and do all the chopping though!!!

    hehehehe!!!

Well, Subject Zero, that's why any cooking you may do would be in the privacy of your own home... ;)
If you want to be my chopping boy, though, I'm hiring. :)

well, i know what the problem was with the last crap I brought...the batter was of some tea biskit brand or something and were quite awful.

hmm...maybe i'll make another match of those

oh yeah...heh, forgot about the time thing. well, it may get switched over to friday as it looks like Leah is working on saturday (let you know if this changes, we will) but I'd aim for about 3pm saturday. friday we'd aim for 5pm if it's happening then.

    :/

well, I'm not too sure about the Friday. I have to go to a seminar. Apparently I may be able to get a bachelors degree in fine arts after graduating college within a year or a masters degree in 2 years. But I'd have to go to Australia to do it.

If I can and I do I plan to go to Japan (I need a bachelor's degree to do it) for 2 or 3 years to teach english.

Then back in Canada with a beautiful resume and a good chunk of money.

Ummmm... yeah, so anyways... I'm not sure about Friday

(can you tell I'm excited about the australia thing!!!)

    i know I can't!

    j/k,

sounds like a good plan, hope it all works out in the end.

whereas, i've planned my major but realize I have no clue if I'll have a decent paying job from it. Wonderful.

    It's time to cook.

If its Friday, I may be late arriving. I have a midterm from 3:30-4:30 and my mom will likely not get to Hamilton until 5:30-6--though that's doubtful given traffic, so I doubt I'd be back into Toronto until 7:30-8.
Plus unpacking whatever crap I bring home etc,

I may have to pass, but I'll do my best to be there

Hello everybody, I'll be in Toronto this coming week, but since I'm coming in Friday (probably be there by around 10pm) Friday would not be a good day for the fanday.

Anyway I'm offering to cook. But only using an open flame. (just so everyone knows I once again have a lighter:)

Since I won't have time to make any homemade food, Christalia you should just tell me what to bring.

Is this still going on? Is it set for Friday?

I will not be able to make it on Friday, with traffic the way it always is at that time, if I leave at 5pm, I doubt I'd be home till 6:30-7:00, then I have to unpack and all that.

Sorry guys, hope y'all have a good time.

Well, we could have it on Saturday, but that means you guys aren't really eating all you could be. I won't be home until 9:15 at the earliest if I take the subway from work, which means not only might I actually miss some of Iron Chef, I won't be able to cook.

Look, I need to actually -hear- some definitive things from people. If you are coming for sure, e-mail me, okay?

...maybe this is anal of me, but could you guys please put a touch of effort into spelling the name right? It's right in front of your nose... :(

Whose name? Your name? Billy Bob Thorton and is wife Lara Croft, I mean Simba?

Well, in the case C-15489!^$%^G don;t forget to write back to D+-45234$(!!!! or your M--$#(555hh9u will be very upset.

Are we celebrating Star Wars or Iron Chef? I don't think we can do both here, just because of time and focus.

I personally, don't care for cooking and would rather not, ordering a pizza or eating tupperware is good enough for me.

now, with that being said, I think the answer to your question is they being the people who are running the studios, this week.

Good night everybody, you've been a terrible audience. Just be grateful, I'm a forgiving man!

I agree with dhasydbcdgchguy** except I don't want any pepperoni on my tupperware.

and if it's happening friday I may be late.

and if it's happening thursday I won't be able to make it.

and if it's happening two years, three weeks, four days and two hours from now, then I'll order the tupperware.

I'd like to go to any fan day thing, but I can't make it friday although anytime after friday would be ok.

    thats all.

Joesph, generally, we don't have to worry about such details...that's usually David's domain as he's usually the one driving or the house we converge at.

Don't be difficult or no more alcohol for you!

Hey Leah, e-mail some directions to me at stats_canada@sympatico.ca

I'm thinking I gotta be there early to chop stuff so riding David's metal horse like a surfer doesn't seem like an option

    :p

    GIMME THE KNIFE!!!

    MWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

    Ahem... so.. ya.
