i'll support murray, but won't be upset if fed gets through. i just hope one of these two wins the final.

i basically agree with that sentiment, but still how incredible has djokovic been? another three straight major finals and astoundingly 15 of the last 20.

he's been the clear best player in the world for awhile now, yet somehow i just haven't really warmed to him. i dunno, if he started getting near some major records i may start rooting for him.

yeah, i think he's a good guy but his playing style just isn't very inspiring. i always find myself rooting for the more artistic federer, the relentless hustle of nadal, or the underdog murray.

    yep, same.

shame anderson couldn't hold on against him, otherwise we would likely have (almost) guaranteed a nice story either way: one more fed major, or murray becoming a dual wimbledon winner. it could still happen, mind.

nothing too spectacular, but a pretty good match so far. murray really needs this second set.

just saw the stat that roger is 10-0 in wimbledon semifinals and has only ever dropped one set. that is ridiculous.

I think that we are going to get two really good championship matches this weekend. Gut feeling.

definitely hope Djokovic doesn't roll over Fed in straight sets.

Federer's never cared much for Djokovic, and I think he feels like Djokovic would never have been able to beat him when he (Federer) was at his best. Federer smacked him around pretty good at Roland Garros back in 2011, the match that ended Djokovic's long winning streak to open that season.

The thread title title is still apt. Fed is going to have all the support in the final.

Just dropping in to say that I still think most of you have underlying reasons you're not even aware of and that you have been taught since birth.

One more away from Graf, and three from Court. She'll get both, unless she steps on glass again.

    What are you talking about?

I'm all in for Serena in New York.

Seeing a Triple Crown and a tennis Grand Slam in the same year? Two off the sports bucket list!

The thing that I think is most remarkable is that Serena is doing this at a relatively advanced age for both an athlete in general and a tennis player in particular. As I've gotten into my thirties, I've started paying more attention to the ages of various athletes. Its been a good summer for people our age-- Carli Lloyd turns 33 next week and Serena is 33. Roger Federer is 33.

Looks like Djokovic's about to win it, and keep 2008 safe in the process. Also seems like it's not a good omen to win great tiebreaks. McEnroe won his in 1980 and lost the match, Federer won one in 2008 and lost that match, and Federer won the classic one this time and is on the verge of losing the match.
