    lol bib

TheWampas1138: but what's keeping me from buying this game is the whole Tom Bombadil aspect. I didn't enjoy that part of the book at all, so if the level lasted more than five minutes, I probably couldn't stand it.

    My god! Blashphemy!

Tom is god! I can't believe you didn't like that part of the books! All true tolkien fans were amazingly pi$$ed when Tom was left out of the movie!

And about tolkien being stoned when writing LOTR - possibly but the fight scenes are a bit more intense and if you've even been out in the "outdoors" you would appreciate the thoughts about food and water! It made the book / adventure realistic! If the entire book had gone on without any mention of anyone getting hungry it would suck!

    Bib - it's good you're back! :)

What nonsense. What defines a "true fan" anyway?

I'd have thought a "true fan" wouldn't have boycotted the movies...

    ;)

    boycotted? I didn't do that.

The movie's great even without Tom - even though he is an incredibly influencial character in the original work of Tolkien.

And if Peter had included Tom in the movie - can you image the crap he would have gotten about a 4hour movie?!

I bought the game. I've played about 2 hours so far.

At first, I hated it. It just seemed so damn boring. I put it down for a day, picked it back up, and then started to enjoy it a lot.

At first, you have to do a lot of tasks for people to get your supplies and to get better weapons. This part is a little tedious, but it helps you get aquinted with the game's control system.

The game is definitly based on the book. AND THATS A GOOD THING!! The story goes far more indepth for a game, and it feels more like your playing the book then just playing some variation of the book.

Overall, I have liked the game so far. It might be too boring for some, but I personally enjoyed it a lot. Well, at least far better then the 6.7 that ign.com gave it.

PS - Mary & Pippen are exactly like they are in the book. They don't just stumble across things like they do in the movie.

Yup. A Black Rider flying on a giant fire-breathing dragon. (which, strangely enough, wasn't in either the movie or the book. Hmm...)

For a game that prides itself on being based after the book, it sure does'nt stay true to its word.

    Well, in the books the Nazgul were on "Giant Winged Creatures" though I dont remember them breathing fire. Of Course...they have a bad tendancy to get shot down before they can really do anything major 8-}

It proabbly stays truer to the Books more so than the Movies Do though. Jackson has made some decisions about TTT I'm not to thrilled about, but that wont stop me from buying the Game :)
