I saw that pic awhile back on the 501st board. It looked like several pieces of the armor were special made.

If I'm not mistaken, the armor is customed made by a popular SW prop maker and was completed back before Halloween last year. It also comes with a high heel boots and an interesting looking rear!

The prop maker also made some pre-teen sized tropper armor previously if my memory serve me right. ;)

Does anyone have good pictures(well, drawings) of The Dark Woman or Dark Lady Lumiya? I don't know very much about Star Wars and I just married an avid fan 2 months ago, so I am trying to get involved [face_clown] I am making him a jedi costume and I would like to make myself a female costume as well, but it seems like there aren't very many original ideas, you know? If I wore a Leia costume to Cellebration II, I would be one in like 2000 other people! Any suggestions?

Well sorry I couldn't be of more help and it is good to see some ambition in your costuming!

Good luck and let us know how your project goes! :)

haha! well, if you ask my husband, I'm never one to blend in with the crowd! So even if he does prefer the whole twi'lek idea for a costume, I'm sure there will be a veriable sea of other twi'leks there. Not exactly the kind of "splash" I'd like to make with my first SW costume....

Wow Fate, that will be an awesome costume! I wanted to make it too, but the hairstyle is pretty complicated. Have you figured out how you're going to do it yet? :)

Fake hair, braid it and SEW it together, then attach with MONDO bobby pins! :)

Dawn, the gold hair bun things are a CINCH: fake hair, braided, SEW the buns together with thread that matches hair color. Can use either the mesh gold fabric found in the "fancy" part of the fabric store OR you can get gold mesh ribbon with wired edges in craft stores to stretch over it. I'd baste it to the edges of your hair buns, probably finish it off with a piece of gold ribbon or flat soutache. And if you don't want to re-use it, I'd hot glue it on!

Headbands are easy to find in the bridal section, just cover them with the right fabric or more gold ribbon. The buns can either be glued on or I prefer to sew them on for more stability.

    --Renata
(doesn't dress like Amidala, but does medieval re-enactment, on which all A's hairstyles seem to be based!)

I had considered using fake hair, but I'm still not sure how i'll pull it off exactly, looks like I'll be relying a lot on Renata's expertise come closer to May. :)

For the AOTC Premiere I will be going as Ysanne Isard. Which is basicly an Imperial Officer Uniform with some attitude, and a bunch of hair color and a red contact. (BTW my Icon is Ysanne.)

Plus my friend will be going as a Royal guard so I get an escort :D

I am trying to make Amadial's Episode II costume. That pastel one, with the low back. I have figured out how to make most of the costume, but does any one have any good pictures of the costume? I want to make sure the pattern I made is correct.

I used to live about 3 hours from Toronto in Kingston. I miss living up there. :(

The slave Leia costume is always a hit, I hope it goes over well for you!

And sorry I don't have any pictures of that Amidala costume, you might try asking around thought, others for sure will.
