JCC Festivals you wish you could go to

If you had the time and money to go a festival somewhere in the world, where would it be? Why.

For me it would be Up Helly Aa
It is on the last Tuesday of January. It is held in Shetland Islands in the town of Lerwick. Its origins are actually only but a mere 100 years old. Imagine a 1000 strong group of men marching with torches. With squads of men dressed as Vikings with their leader. They drag a Viking ship thru town to a spot where they give it a funeral and burn it. Then they visit all the halls and the people and drink till morning.

Is it as overrated as a Viking festival in Scotland?

 

Burning Man... there's something greatly appealing about getting high in the Nevada desert. Then again, I don't necessarily need the festival for that.

 

Nevada is so far from LA.

 

lol. burning man is expensive though and as we all know tunes is a homeless man.

 

Do they take volunteers?

 

you can volunteer but you still have to buy your ticket. you can apply for a low income ticket but it's still like 200 bucks.

 

I had first heard about it from an ex-co-worker, Crazy Tony. It sounded too crazy to be true until I looked it up.

 

Yeah... rainbow gatherings are more within his price range.
