No worries, Cassandra, Leo and Chris. This is definitely quite a busy time of year for many people, and although you?ll all be missed, your absence is certainly understandable. ;) Leo and Chris, if you have the opportunity, I highly recommend that you check out LOTR: TTT. I was fortunate enough to watch it last night and I was utterly amazed. It is, without a doubt, one of the best (if not the best) films of 2002. ;) LOTR: TTT is definitely worth an ovation and a thumbs up. ;)

I'm going! I'm brining my dad along (he insists on seeing the movie, our conversation went something like this:

    "You're seeing Two Towers?"

    "Yeah..."

    "Well, I'm going."

    "Aw, why?"

"Hey, I have a right, I've been a Lord of the Rings fan since before you were born!"

    "Fine.")

I'm also bringing my crazy best friend! It's our 10th Christmas together!

    See ya there!

[hl=yellow]Important[/hl]: For everyone coming tomorrow, I highly recommend that you get your tickets early. I was reading the Vancouver Sun this morning and apparently LOTR: TTT raked in $42 million US on its opening day, which is quite a substantial day at the box office when you consider that it opened on a weedkday (Wednesday) and that it is three hours in length (less screenings per day per cinema). Thus, there is a high probability that the 04:00 PM screening may sell-out. [face_shocked] However, I specifically chose this screening as it is sandwiched in-between the 03:30 PM (this one will sell-out for sure) and 05:00 PM screening of LOTR: TTT at Metropolis. Also, there is a 04:15 screening at nearby Station-Square; so we have quite a few options open to us. [hl=yellow]But I advise everyone to purchase their tickets for the 04:00 PM screening earlier than usual.[/hl] [face_wink]

I was gonna head out early. I'll be sure to pick up my ticket. Maybe we could all meet a bit earlier and go do a mall crawl till the movie opens, or something?

    6. The Post-Activity Report: LOTR: The Two Towers at SilverCity Metropolis on 21/12/02.

On Saturday, Tipoca City held its Sixth Activity: a matinée screening of LOTR: The Two Towers at SilverCity Metropolis. The following GV JCers were in attendance:

We also had the pleasure of welcoming the following people:
    • 6. Rachel?s father (who does share a definite resemblance to Ben Kenobi). ;)

    • 7. Collin (Christine?s boyfriend).

    • 8. Antonio?s companion.

Without a doubt, [link=http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/the_two_towers/]LOTR: The Two Towers[/link] was a exhilarating film and made for yet enjoyable Activity. I?ll say more about the film later, but I?m going to save my critique for this [link=http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=9917658&replies=6]thread[/link]. In addition, Saturday?s Activity was very much a co-operative effort as well. Special thanks go out to Alex, who not only assumed the role of Santa Claus by showering us with gracious gifts but also informed me via telephone that the 4:00 PM screening had sold out early. [face_happy] With this information, I was able to leave early and purchase tickets for those who hadn?t done so yet. Also, huge thanks go out to Christine and Collin, who stood in line and saved seats for the rest of us. [face_wink]

After the screening, we were able to discuss quite a few FF Chapter matters including our future t-shirts, website, and Collecting Division. [face_grin] Lastly, thank you to everyone who attended; I definitely had a fantabulous time. [face_wink]

It was definitely worth the long wait in line. The movie was fantastic! I was just a bit disappointed that we couldn't talk with each other for a while longer. Also thanks to Dan for buying tickets ahead of time for Collin and I. :)
