well, i kinda like rain. it's being shot in the back, just because i have a darker tone of skin or a policeman can't tell the difference between a south american and a asian, that worries me.

I'm going to london next september, unfortunately I'm going on business, so I cannot visit the "shag pads". Even better though, with all the bombings and stuff... It'll be a two dau stay for the weekend, not sure which one yet, but I'll be staying in the Confort Inn in King's Cross, a cheap three star lousy hotel I suppose, any luck you tell me if I can make a quick getaway, richie?

The Kning's Cross area is not a place I visit much :p
But I would be careful staying there, King's Cross station was bombed and was then targeted again in a failed attack. So its not exactly a safe place

And I know nothing of these "Shag Pads" you refer to. London is only good for visiting museums, galleries, lots of important historical old buildings & The Queen

Besies that its rather boring :p

    Shag pads = Austin Powers

Every yank that sees those films believes London still lives like the 60's...

    It was a joke.

Anyhow, I think we are goig the second weekend.

Please, I don't want to see the queen...

Does UK have any good fan stores? I mean, are they common and well equipped?
'cause back here we have some average, far from each other, lowsy, not so well equipped wannabe fan-stores.
To order stuff from the US we might just have to kill someone, not literally but close, since the taxes out of yankeeland are out of this world...

London doesn't have much in terms of big stores

They have one Forbidden Planet megastore and a few small cult film places, but not much more that I know of

I went to a Forbidden Planet store in Southampton... Tiny place, with a varied selection of many series/books/movies, but not much variety within each. Still, better than what we get here! :)

Star Wars merchandising was all over the store, and they had a couple of very neat things. Then again, so did Toys'r'us and a couple of other stores whose names I don't remember now (maybe GrandMoffTarkin does, but I'm hopeless when it comes to remembering things like that).

Luckily at the moment there are many places selling SW stuff

The problem is finding places that sell old stuff cheap

I'm Danish. Since I know a wee bit of Portuguese, I'll probably (well, I already have) participate in some of the Portuguese threads in this forum and expose you to my poor Portuguese skills. I hope that's okay.

Greetings young danish padawan... Perhaps I can show you the true nature of the Force...

You must forgive windu's writing... you know how much the Jedi spend time meditating and end up loosing practice on other things... like writing... and keeping themselves alive...

Wilkommen (is this how you spell?)

Well, that would be in German. In Danish it's 'velkommen' - but it's prestty close anyways. Anyway, 'tak' for the welcome ;)

I don't want to do a horrible job translating this, so I think it'd be safer to post it here...

    Hello Portugal!

My name is Rachel and I am here from the San Diego, California, USA fanforce. Over this summer, the chapter representative of Santa Cruz, California had an idea to send her fried Interactive Yoda around the world on a tour. We gathered over 50 fanforces and sent the little master on his way.

We sadly overlooked many fanforces, and after several requests to be added to the tour, we have decided to open it up once more. Currently, the little Master in on his way to Wales in the United Kingdom. His only other stops in Europe will be to France and Germany, but we want him to see more of beautiful Europe!

If your fanforce would like to participate, please send me a PM as soon as possible. We are closing the sign ups on January 1, 2006, but since Yoda is already in Europe, the sooner, the better! All we would need is a person willing to be Yoda's "tour guide" who would take care of him for his 2 week stay in each stop.

    The tour's thread is HERE.

    Thank you all!

    ~Rachel

(And if the Portuguese fanforce is interested, would someone mind translating that? I don't trust online translators. :p )

    Thank you! :D

No need to translate. I'm sure anyone here could read this...

I dunno about the crew at Fanforce Portugal, but I would enjoy having a saber fight with "the little green friend"... I'm just not sure we have the means to bring him here...

It's now in the hands of those who can make it happen...

    That would be awesome.

Just as a forewarning, if Fanforce Portugal decides to participate, Yoda would be there in the last half of January. I know this is short notice, but I might as well extend the invitation. :)
