Calgary FF/RL event - October 27th (evening)

As mentioned in the last meeting, we've been invited to participate in the Devonian Gardens Halloween event. The Devonian is celebrating their 30th anniversary and the theme of their party is 'events of 1977' - so of course there's section dedicated to Star Wars!! They'll be setting up a projector and playing the movie in our little area. Details as follows:

Date: Saturday, October 27th
Where: Devonian Gardens (7th Ave & 3rd St SW - plus 15 level)
Time: 8PM until....?? (the end??) - they would like us to be there sometime between 7-7:30 for set up
Bring: Your best SW costume and lots of enthusiasm!! (no flea bitten rags or subpar threads please! This is an adult party and we're dressing to IMPRESS!!) If you don't have a costume and would still like to volunteer, you're most welcome to help out. Be advised though, that you will be required the help the event organizers with whatever they require.

If you're an RL member you can post on these threads (http://rebellegion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=115982#115982) as well but feel free to post here if you're going to attend. I believe the 501st have been invited as well, but haven't not heard if they'll be attending or not.

All proceeds for this event will be going to INN FROM THE COLD - a local charity that helps feed and shelter the homeless. Spread the words to family and friends if they'd like to attend. Tickets are $30, which includes 1 free drink.

This is going to be a really FUN day!!

I'm planning on being there! I have also informed my brother and his girlfriend; they are considering getting tickets.

 

I'm definitely going to be there in full Jedi regalia.

 

At least I can make it to this one as my class is over at 5pm.

Peter - unfortunately, as it is an ADULT party you do have to be at least 18 to be able to participate (as alcoholic beverages will be served). I'm so sorry!!

This event is just a week away - and so far only 5 people have confirmed that they are going.
C'mon guys! What better way to spend Halloween than to be with your SW buddies, in costume, watching ANH and spreading the SW love???!

Let's make this a great event - for a very worthwhile cause

Yrol, just so you're not worrying too much for numbers, from Badlands Scot, Roger, and Barry are confirmed, with Dave and Richard as maybes. We should have a good mix up characters there. But agreed, it should be a fun event, and I hope more people sign up.

Garrett - I can loan you my green k2 led lightsaber (and a blade) for the day. It has a covertec knob for belt carry. It has no sound though.

Yes I will be wanting to do the make-up, but I'm not sure how we're going to work that? You're going to both events, correct?

 

Yes, I'll be there for both. I think if we use some sort of eyeliner pencil, it will stay better than the stuff we used at the CCEE. I can bring a picture, or perhaps even mock up a template, and just draw it on when we get to the Telus center. I won't have much to do to get ready. Let's discuss it some more before or after class tomorrow.

 

Update:

I may not make this event. It appears I'm in heavy demand by several hot young brunettes in the snowboard club for the Naughty Nights Halloween Cab. I might start at the Devonian Gardens for an hour or 2 and then whip over to the Den for the rest of the night, but we'll have to see how it goes.

 

Looking forward to this event - hopefully we'll get a good turnout (guest-wise).

Most of all, I'm looking forward to paryting with my friends

A few more did (perhaps 35 or so) but it didn't really get any better. Elvis did show up - and was fairly entertaining.

It was a rare opportunity to see Dooks in a costume though
