    Hey guys.

As you may, or may not know., some FF chapters have their own icons.

MOT PM'd me asking if we could have one. He suggested maybe having some sort of competition. I think this sounds like a great idea so, thanks to Jon for bringing it up.

There has been a large group for ages that come up with icons for the JC. They have a huge thread over in communications.

    Custom Icons submission thread

So, how do you make an icon? I'm sure some of you already know but, if you don't, never fear. One of the icon makers (PriceXizor) set up a great page which is a tutorial on how to make an icon for the JC.

    Heres the page:

    Icon making for Dummies

So, go for it. The only request is it has to be Star Wars related and appropriate. Once we have one, I can speak to MysterySith or, whoever is responsible for uploading the icons these days and get it added to the server.

    :)

Everybody. Any registered user on the JC will be able to select it but, the idea (and it's worked so far) is that users outside that chapter won't have any interest in it.

I've been working on a Rebel and an Imperial insignia decked out in Union Jack colours after Cass mailed me about this last week... I'll have first drafts by the weekend I reckon...

    //starts thinking of an idea.

We could be here for a long time.

Cool, great start. If anybody else wants to have a go then go for it.

The more we have to pick from the better.

Talking of making this place more , FF-UK, Iam currently working along side CA to produce the banner graphics and images to use on these forums. I would also like any surgestions of graphics that would be used, ie Tower Of London etc, what sort of SW images will be there etc.

    Thx

    Paul

This sounds cool guys but, like I said, we need to keep it as SW related as possible.

They won't let just any icon be uploaded. There have been many rejected in the past.

Could always have the Tower of London with Hans and Chewie standing in front taking a picture.

Funky. Borrow Garrett's pink lightsaber and give it a Union Jack makeover.

lol - that works on so many levels.

For the banner, Paul, I reckon you keep it really, really, simple. Something like the Union Jack on the left fading into ONE SW picture on the right. The Falcon or DV's head or something. Then some words about FF_UK printed across it. Nothing fussy.

I want to practice with a script on the FF UK website, so I'll take all the submissions for icons and put them on the website.. where you'll be able to vote online for them via the site?

And as for banner graphics... all I can say is don't overdo it... just a handful of images to make up the banner is plenty. There's nothing worse than a cluttered banner...

I like Soggy's idea of having Han and Chewie in front of the Tower of London for the main banner.

If anyone has ideas for our own custom forum colours (see FF Australia), let's hear them.

The forum colors should compliment the colors used in the banner.

And bear in mind you shouldn't change what don't need fixin' Our colours right now are really, really nice. And Australia's are hideous.

    Simple banner.

    Not cluttered.
