Doubt there will be any changes at this stage but we'll let you know if there is
so will there be earlier things now? i'm confused. i'll let you know when i'm done with my appointment all the same and then i'll see if there is enough time to see the movie and have the curry. right?
Me and Tim are still meeting at 12, and then we'll meet you as soon as your finished with your appointment. We're just going to try and catch an earlier showing, as I've got a staff meeting at 9pm and so I need to leave after 7pm.
I hope this isn't a problem, I just don't want to cancel or push back this meet
no i don't think it's a problem. if we don't get to see the movie then we don't get to see it. it doesn't matter all that much. i just hate rushing meals.
Guess we can workout what to do Monday
If we get to see the movie around 2pm-ish, we'll then get chance to go down to Rusholme and eat for about 5pm-ish. I think 2 hours gives us time to eat and get back to city centre? Only problem I forsee is whether the restaurant opens at 5pm or later.
Well if not it's not like we can't find another Indian to go too
i'm sure it'll be alright. see ya later guys.
Well it was great to have out first NW Curry meet
Hope it's the first of many meets to come
Any photos, guys?
Tim's going to post them tomorrow
Look forward to seeing them.
There's just one photo, we were having way too much fun and forgot
Had a fun meet, chilled/relaxed and entertaining. Thanks the great company guys
We got a real discounted curry up in NW
Still impressed with what I had
made it home okay, entirely forgot to tell you
Love the squirrel, Tim
So guys, same time next month?
Wait till you see Darth Nuts Sith costume
Next month is a go for me Just depends when - we really need to work out these North/Scotland stuff asap.
Just where ... do we do Liverpool this time?
I don't mind Liverpool for the next one
yay! a decent restaurant in liverpool!
Don't worry bout that Martina
Just had an idea for the next curry meet, kinda prompted by the work colleague who is coming to Southport on Sunday - I didn't realise where Anthony Gormley's "Another Place" was in terms of train station, aside for it being Crosby beach.
"Another Place" is very close (10-15 mins walk) to Waterloo station, which is about halfway between Liverpool and Southport. Waterloo also has a highly recommended Indian restaurant called the "Coriander", appeared in the Metro a while back, and people seem to rave about it.
The top arrow is Coriander, the longer arrow is the route from the station to the beach/statues. We can do a double-whammy here - have a curry night and also see the NW's answer (sort of) to Gormley's Angel of the North. By the time we have done Suzi's BBQ, we should be Gormley'd out lol - and seen both his Northern icons

It's not open on Monday btw - so we'd have to do it on a weekend. Say a Saturday in early June, even the first weekend in June maybe?
The best plan for the day would be to meet in Liverpool limestreet, then head to the Liverpool based comic shops (Forbidden Planet and World's Apart) which are on the way to Central Station, then get the train going towards Southport. Get off at Waterloo, see the statues and then head up to Coriander for a meal. I can come back with you to Liverpool in early evening, maybe get a coffee there. Leave you at Limestreet then head back to Southport. In Merseyside region you can get a "ticket" called the "Saveaway" which is unlimited off-peak travel within Merseyside. It'll be all day on a Sat, so I have no probs going back and to
One of my work colleagues may come for some of this as well, but I'll let her know the plan and see what she thinks.
Edit: Antony Gormley on "Another Place"
[blockquote]"According to Antony Gormley, Another Place harnesses the ebb and flow of the
tide to explore man¹s relationship with nature. He explains: ³The seaside is a good place to do this. Here time is tested by tide, architecture by the elements and the prevalence of sky seems to question the earth¹s substance. In this work human life is tested against planetary time. This sculpture exposes to light and time the nakedness of a particular and peculiar body. It is no hero, no ideal, just the industrially reproduced body of a middle-aged man trying to remain standing and trying to breathe, facing a horizon busy with ships moving materials and manufactured things around the planet."

Sounds cool, I've heard good things about The Coriander and I've wanted to visit Another Place too
Would the 2nd June be good for us?
2nd June should be fine for me. Martina?
Since we didn't do the 2nd of this month, how about the 2nd July?
It's a Monday and the day before my birthday. Wasn't sure we'd have the time to do something since CE is the week after and there will be a lot on. And I don't think there will be time to have a small meal with my closest friends down in London.
Would it be ok to meet in Liverpool?
i think so
