Okey Doke, I'll be wearing a red rose and carrying a copy of the guardian! lol!
Can I suggest booking somewhere to eat in the evening?
I'd like to meet you all but I'm working on Saturday, so going somewhere after 5pm would be good.
Anyone got anywhere to suggest to book?
well, you'll never get a table at Mother India (the best curry hoose) for a saturday night at this short notice....
but around Charing Cross (west end of Sauchiehall St) there are a dozen or so curry houses that will do the job acceptably. There are also three chinese buffet establishments, if that is yir thing.
One suggestion. The Bunker, on Bath St, parallel to Sauchiehall, is a nice modern bar, with a good all-purpose menu, and the most lovely sunken circular tables up the back (very cantina indeed) and a phone call to them roundabout today, specifically booking one of those sunken tables for a meal saturday evenong, should be in time to secure one, which is easily big enough for a party of 10 or so.
Unfortunately, I will not be joining you, as I've been called to london on band business this weekend (new album came out last week, so that side of my time is a bit busier than usual). Hope you have fun. It looks like being a clear frosty weekend, which is ideal.
? shopping ?Parney St shops / barrowland antique markets (merchant city and east) Forbidden Planet (buchanan st)
? tourism ? bus tour (from George Square) then Kelvingrove Museum (west end of sauchehall/argyle)
? food ? the Bunker (off sauchiehall)
? drink ? Nice and Sleazy (sauchiehall), Firewater (sauchiehall), a thousand other pubs
Thanks for all that info Dank, appreciated
Maybe next time? Hope your London trip goes well.
We may have another person coming, Graham over on the Starwars.com forums has posted interest in coming, so I have let him know what we are doing, let's see

Indian Orchard in Partick is AWESOME. Not too far from City Centre but not sure how easily people can travel.
Currently in an internet cafe I had to use yesterday to check who was able/not able to come lol

Scotland and FFUK: North should have a meet sometime, especially if you like curry
Thanks for that
Actually that is something we talked about yesterday Spike, and thought it would be a great idea. We will be in touch hopefully sooner rather than later with a wee proposition!
Sounds great. Perhaps we should have a two-legged meet some time, you coming down to join us in the North (Newcastle maybe?) one time and we come up to see you in Scotland (Glasgow/Edinburgh ) the next?
Back home now, thanks to everyone who made this a great weekend. Here's to FF-UK: Scotland going from strength to strength
