I thought there would be more boys than girls, but i expected a few more females than this! I would invite my friends, but, sadly, none of them like star wars
That really sucks, cos the only person I can discuss star wars with is my brother... uch.

Tho he does pay me into the cinema occasionaly

 

Yes, I must say the lack of female SW fans surprises me to.
I always thought it was a film of universal appeal, with characters to suit both genders

Since the films have more male then female characters One would expect more female fans

 

I wonder why there are so many more males... there must be some sociological reason.

Perhaps the whole lightsaber thing evokes deep subconcious urges a la Freudianesque nature!

Well I voted male, I mean I checked in my boxers and I seem to be male.

One of the few females, although most of you could probably have guessed that!

I'm not too surprised by there being more men than women, but that said, I belong to some other sci-fi boards where the male:female ratio is about 1:4. Maybe there's something in SW that doesn't appeal to as many women?

I dunno, most girls I hear say StarWars is a male thing, along with cars and football for some reason. Maybe flying round the galaxy shooting stuff in a good vs evil conflict is too simple and require too little thought for them... maybe they'd prefer it if it was a bit more complex, although I struggle enough already

But yeah on good authority, I hear Yoda is attractive for some reason. So maybe I should paint myself green and talk like an idiot, I'm halfway there already...

Then again, I would have thought the prequels would have drawn in a fair amount of female fans - especially with AOTC and ROTS and their romantic undertones...Although, that said, I don't think that Lucas can write romance...He just doesn't seem to have it in him. But you'd also think that there was enough in Star Wars to get women interested...Girls kicking some ass, good looking male lead actors. What's not for them to like?

In FF Sweden the ratio is about 1/3 female... and in my city it's 100% females. And it's definitely the girls who are most active in FFS, and the most crazy. Hmm. I guess we just are a weird chapter.
