Was discussing this with Leigh last night on MSN. Since the Halloween idea fell through, how about we all meet up somewhere and view a Bonfire Night/Firework Display, possibly in Boro? I'm gonna scout around Boro to find out when they're doing there's, but I know for a fact that Bishop Auckland's takes place on Thursday 2nd of November (conveniently, behind my house, so it's not too bad a journey if anyone wants to do Bishop and congregate at my house first). I know it's short-notice but we should have a mini-meet before GMEX, especially since I missed Leeds :(

Well, Darlington would probably be more convenient for me to get to than Stockton. Anyone fancy a switch, or just stay with Stockton? Nothing's concrete yet, so we can all still decide. Darlo is a Saturday night, so could be a lot easier for people to travel down, 'specially by public transport and spike might be able to make it rather than missing the Sunday night display.

That is, if Jase wants us lot stalking him at the Darlo display :p

Well Darlo is quite central to everyone i mean its only like a 20 min train ride from boro/stockton, not to far from durham, quite close to Bishop Auckland. I travel to Darlo loads so It wouldn't make any difference to me. Plus the Darlington show seems to have a lot going on

I think the Darlo one would be better and no point going miles if the Darlo ones not far from where people live;)

    Exactly Tython :)

And if your thinking of coming from Newcastle, Darlo train station is right on the main line and trains go to and from newcastle, some are also pretty frequent. Doesnt take that long either. around half an hour to 45 minutes at the most.

But then again, we'll have to wait and see if everyone attending is willing to change to Darlington or not. Like Sie said, nothing is concrete yet

Yeah, took me half an hour from Darlo to Newcastle on the day of the HMV charity collection. And trains go pretty late too, especially for a Saturday night, so it's good for everyone for getting back home. And Leigh is totally right, Darlington is a lot more central for the North East than Stockton is.

    Well, considering that:

    a) It's on from 6-8pm, when shops are closed
    b) Darlington has no Forbidden Planet...

I'd say no. We watch Fireworks, then do whatever. It's a mini-meet, a Bonfire Night/Fireworks Display special since Halloween fell through and we really should have a mini-meet before GMEX.

And Dave, it's not all Middlesbrough members, it's North East members. spike and Leigh are in Boro, you're in Thornaby, I'm in Bishop Auckland, Jase is near Durham, suzi and Disciple are in Newcastle, Ogli is in Richmond, if you look at it geographically, and consider things such as public transport, Darlington is the best option.
