I'm looking for sound effects of melee, hand-to-hand combat. I checked on the Sound Bunker, and those sounds are terrible. In most cases, they have music and/or grunts in the background.
    Anyone have any ideas?

I did a quick Google search and this site isnt too bad, I'm sure there are better. Depends on what kind of sound you want. Are you going for a Indiana Jones sounding punch, what are you going for? Anyways, check out this site...

Ive got some sound effects called "Martial arts and Human Impacts". Its a FANTASTIC selection of sounds. From sword fighting but mainly fighting. It has blocks, kicks, punches and loads more sound effects and its GREAT. Search google for "Martial arts and Human Impacts" and you can get it for about $30

Yeah, Indiana Jones-style punches would be good. I'm also looking for free sounds.

You could try making your own.

A way that a mate of mine did it was the leather kick bags used in most martial arts clubs.
He got some really good impact sounds.

    Please see this thread. :)

I'm not sure how you could have possibly downloaded every fighting clip from the Sound Bunker to find that they were all "terrible" but that's your choice. There are thousands of sounds in there and I know that there are at least several great sets of generic fighting noises from several games. However, my advice (as mentioned earlier) is to check out some of the other links in the sticky thread and see what you can find, or start looking around on Google for "fighting sound effects" and try those.

    Good luck!
