File attachments to PMs

Hi everyone,

I first must apologize if this question has already been addressed elsewhere.

Can you do a file attachment, like a Word document, to a PM?

I can't see a control for that...

 

No you cannot. I suggest using Google Documents, Dropbox, or another online storage site if you want to share a .doc/.docx with another user.

Am I nuts or did not the old site allow message attachments? If so, any insight as to why they are not allowed now? Just curious.

 

The temp boards briefly allowed file attachments, but that was disabled as it would eat heavily into our storage space - which already has to retain all of the avatars, posts, user settings, PMs, etc. I do not recall attachments being a feature on IGN, though I admittedly did not know my way around that software as well as I know Xenforo.

No, I don't believe the IGN site had attachments. It would have made doing these thread indexes way easier, if it had.

As far as I recall IGN didn't allow attachments, at least on our boards..
