A recent update of the TheForce.Net’s front page states that Episode VII is to be shot on 35mm film. So I started wondering how that will effect the print quality of the film in the movie theaters.

This question is for anyone who knows anything about film and/or film tech: How will shooting the movie on 35mm film effect the look of the finished movie, when so much of the special effects are done digitally, and most of the movie theaters are digital projection theaters (meaning the film has to be converted to digital format for theater showings) now?

And are there any newer movies (movies made in the last 5-9 years) that were shot on film, with or without a lot of digital effects, that got converted to the digital format that could be looked at for comparison or example?

Mods: If this question is in the incorrect forum, please move to the correct forum. Thank you.
