I had an idea for a meet. Let's have a movie marathon with a difference.
Instead of watching starwars movies, how about watching some of the starwars rip-offs.
Battlestar Galactica comes to mind. There's others as well. I was a big fan of that show when I was a kid. It was cheesy but it had a few things going for it (though the 3rd movie was worse than cheesy).
The lauch scene for the colonial vipers looked damn cool. They probably blew half their budget on it and they milked it for all it was worth but it got the adrenalin going.
Starwars only ever had one good looking woman in it. Battlestar Galactica had heaps and most of them were real babes!
You've gotta love the way they made Baltar look evil by shining a light on his face from a low angle. :p
I'm sure you guys can think of plenty of other movies that ripped off Starwars.

Well until TPM Leia was about the only one apart from the brief shots of Jabba's dancing girls. TPM added Padme and her handmaidens. Every Battlestar Galactica movie and tv episode was usually a bit of a babe-fest! Took the attention away from the corny storylines I guess.
Of course when I watched it as a kid I was too young to notice the corny storylines and too young to appreciate the babes. I've watched the movies again in recent times. :)
