Roch, NY ** Final Grape & Wine Parade Details **

Just wanted to make sure everyone was ready for Saturday. Here are all the final details:

The caravan is meeting at 7am in Tinseltown's parking lot.
Tinseltown is located at 2291 Buffalo Road, Rochester, NY 14624.

Be sure to have with you $10 (USD or CND) for the lunch afterwards (if you choose to stay for the lunch).

To be on the safe side, make sure you have your birth certificate as well as your driver's license.

Make sure you have all your costume pieces with you as well as a set of regular clothes.

Attendees are also requested to bring a dish to pass. Store made (i.e. not homemade) items would probably be wiser for crossing the boarder.

I will have maps and directions printed out for each driver.
Here is the map of the parade route. And here are the basic directions I will be handing to each driver:

Take 1-490 W to I-90 W (aka the Thruway) - (16.9 miles)

Take I-90 W until Exit 50 (aka I-290 W) ? (41.5 miles)

Take the I-290 W for 9.8 miles then merge onto I-190 N towards Niagara Falls

Take the I-190 N for 15.1 miles then it turns into the Queenstown-Lewiston Bridge

After customs, take Route 450 W towards QEW ? (5.4 miles)

The 405 W merges in with the QEW, remain on the QEW for 3.3 miles until Exit 44.

Take Exit 44 (aka RR-48 towards Niagara Street/Service Road)

Turn Right onto Russell Avenue

Turn Left onto Catherine Street

Turn Left onto Welland Avenue

Turn Right onto Court Street

Follow Court Street past Church Street and King Street.
The hall is on your Left, on the corner of Court and Centre Streets.

I'm assuming between us and TX4277 we'll have 4 walkie-talkies so we should be able to communicate just fine between the cars getting up there.

SWFreak - You need to call me and let me know what time to be at your place.

I'm also bringing a spare costume in case it rains. I packed Endor Leia (without the poncho and helmet) because I do not want to ruin the leather parts on my Boushh helmet.

All those driving might want to refer to WWW.ROCHESTERGASPRICES.COM for their closest cheapest gas info.
Right now its mainly in Henrietta or certain parts of greece that are cheapest.

 

I just filled up both cars for $2.85 here in Greece. I saw the lines at the Sam's Club out in Henrietta and I almost took a picture they were so long. It wasn't worth saving $0.03 a gallon for.

oh actually I just reread the car list we probably can get everyone into 3 cars, Jeff can I ride with you & Katie?, Maybe Mike with Scott & Adam with Darren & Nicky?

 

We could fit 1 person or one set of armor in the Avalon, so if Adam goes in our car his armor would have to go in another. Actually, KS just said that we could fit armor if it was in a big bag like TX4277's, but not a bin.

I'm still waiting to figure out if TD-027 is coming or not as that might mix things up a bit if he's driving his van or truck or going in someone else's car.

I'm making room right now in the Tank.
I'll have a full empty trunk that can probably handle a bin or two.
2 riders in the back or one rider and bin.

I think Mike wanted to drive (?)
If not Mike or Adam could ride with me and I can haul their gear.

 

Actually... scratch that - I just volunteered to bring the soda and cups so that's going to eat up all the rest of the space in the trunk. The Avalon is definitely full.

Nice job with the pix, Scotty and everyone who snapped 'em! Wow, though; just two shy of 400! I think that the feeling of excitement that I know we all felt really comes through in the photos. What a great day.

It was great to have met our northern neighbors, and I can't wait for the next time we gather en masse!
