While earning a salary and living in a rented flat, invest in a property with borrowed money. Rent it out so that the rent recieved pays for pretty much all the mortgage repayments. In a few years when the market appreciates (obviously, a small amount of luck is involved), sell and invest half the profits (after paying back the mortgage) into high-risk ventures and use the rest to borrow more money. Repeat.

My plan is similar, but requires a bit more work. Find land in suburbs close to the city or in other popular but established areas, buy, and then build a home. New homes are rare in these areas and most people don't think to look for land there. Live in the home for approximately one year and then sell and make a good profit. Alternatetively, just buy the land and keep it for a while, then sell. My brother and sister-in-law have done this and it's really effective.

Let's not forget all the added costs of owning a rental property.

No matter what you do risks are involved and yes they can work. Alas they can also fall out from your feet leaving you high and dry.

Well look @ Internet stocks, wow, so much money was lost in that sector that it is enough to make you want to.....well, you know what ;).

Education is always a good investment, as is not incurring Credit Card Debt

Buy a large dog. Then hitch it to the front of your car, and ride baby ride!

Perhaps, or remove the engine entirely and stuff the dog in there. Then no-one will be the wiser!

    I think he said something?

Well Nyder, cars are just a money pit, you did realise this did you not? Regular maintenance alone will keep that precious stuff from ever seeing the light of day. Not only that the older the car the bigger a drain it will be on you savings.

Predictable; that's why I was very careful on wording this sentence:

Well, it's just like the sad fact that if you don't spend money, you can't buy food... :p

Car ownership gives you a certain freedom of mobility (as long as the car is in acceptable working order)

Yes, but there are other forms of transport that do cost you less.

On closer inspection on that sentence though it does make no sense, what was your point then?
