Finishing the Fight: The Halo 3 Discussion Thread

The brick wall ending of Halo 2 has probably lead to some of the best fanfiction writing I have ever seen. It's like the ending of animorphs all over again.

 

It has been said before but...

Star Wars is to movies what Halo is to video games.

...But I really hope that Xbox 2 plays regular Xbox games.

Sorry, Halobean, but it's been speculated (if not solidly stated) elsewhere that Xbox 2/Next/whatever-they're-gonna-call-it will be a quite different console with different technology built into it, which will make backwards compatibility with Xbox 1 games difficult if not impossible. So if I were you, I wouldn't throw or give away your old Xbox when the next one comes out.

 

Here is another theory:

The MC made the Prophet of Regret regret that he invaded earth. (By 'killing' him.)

He showed the Prophet of Mercy mercy. (By taking the flood of his face.)

Maybe in Halo 3 he will show the Prophet of Truth the truth. (About what Halo actually does.)

Yeah. He'll show him the Truth. The utter, absolute Truth that it's just bad karma to @#$! with him and Earth in general. He'll make him Regret coming to Earth in the first place, and will show him no Mercy.

 

Do you guys see the connection between the "Arc" and the "Covenant"...hmmm maybe the arc is ON earth and is in our mythology for a reason as a "holy box".

There are a lot of obvious relgious allusions in Halo-- "arc," "prophet," "covenant," "heretic," etc.

I don't know. I thought Xbox2 wasn't due out until 2006.

 

There was something said by Cortana in one of the Earth levels that the Covenant wasn't even expecting humanity to be there. I guess they were just looking for that temple. Yet more evidence that Earth is the Ark...but why? What the hell is so good about this dirtball that the Forerunners would choose it?

 

It has been said that there will be a Halo 2. I have also heard that it will be more an..action/adventure game, then first person shooter.

 

I am in no way shape or form saying that Halo 3 will release February 9th but, you guys were all like "It would be the largest scam in company history". Okay, I agree, it would be. But now, since we found out about the Legendary ending, they're just going to go "Oh, you guys got us. Yep, Halo 3 is coming out February 9th."

Has anyone here actually finished it on Legendary? Does anything special happen? No bs here, just an honest answer of ithere's a hint of a Halo 3 coming.

 

There is nothing. Bungie confirmed it. All that you get is black armor unlocked and foundation.

 

I wonder why there wasn't any black armor. That was my favorite in Halo

 

Black armor?! And a map that's already unlocked through Live?! That's all you get for finishing on the nigh impossible Legendary level?!?! That's just perfect for a t-shirt that'd say "I finished Halo2 on Legendary and all I get is this stupid black Spartan model".
