Today I caught the bus literally the moment I left the office and I arrived home a bit earlier than usual, so I thought I'd have a nap. At 5:55 pm, I was in my bed and I fell asleep instantly. At 6:10 pm, I woke up with a start because there was something really important I had to do before 6:30. I went to the bathroom and by the time I was done washing my face, I had forgotten what that "really important" thing was. It probably only ever existed in my dream...

Last sunday there was the yearly book market along the Drottninggatan in Stockholm. I walked away with a movie I have been looking for (Mad Max 3), six Stieg Trenter books (detective fiction) for my aunt and many many books that were just interesting looking

Chyn - I've totally done that before. Nothing like ruining a perfectly good nap!
I've been dreaming about work a lot recently and I hate that. Nothing like being at work while you are asleep too.

And a note on work since I had been complaining about the hours they were giving me: The director of our department said he's pretty sure he'll have a full time position for me very soon, and I think it shows in my current hours because I'm working a lot more next month. My guess is he thinks he'll have it for me soon and so he's going to get as much out of me as possible, if it doesn't happen for some reason, I may not work for two months, though.

I am off-line a lot talking to friends, who knew her via me and who are equally shocked. Even my Mulgrew ex was sad to hear it.

The circle of friends she used to belong to, my teenage days friends, will meet soon and remember her in private, since most of all cannot make it to the funeral service.

But it is still the HOW that makes our blood freeze. And the nagging question "What if I/ we had just..."

Anyway, I have to go now. There is a neglected husband basically sitting on the dishes since he has deeply cut into one of his fingers when making diner for us many hours ago.

When the German TV started showing the old Indiana Jones movies, I felt like ringing her. But I did not. Her parents used to like Indy a lot. And I wanted to see if she was okay. But another friend of mine had also lost both patents within a relatively short time. That friend from university days asked me and all of her other friends to give her time & space to recover.

I meant to write her, sending sending some pictures. Some of the latest reunion of two fellow friends and me. But I thought it might make her angry.

I also decided against saying 'Thank you!' for introducing me to the Penny Dreadful DVD series.

What I at least can do taking care of all my other friends better.

 

That is an extremely hard balance, insisting on connecting/consoling when the other person sends a clear "No" signal versus respecting their wishes and letting them reach out to their friends for support when they're ready. Fact is even when they should, they don't reach for the literal/emotional lifeline that's offered in genuine compassion.

I was not at work today. My migraine was killing me.

It also makes me sad that a nice letter of mine with the addresses of us all was found with her. The only clean item in a broken down life.

So if any of you feels sad or helpless, please reach out for people. But seeing this thread, folk in here do.

My old circle of friends from teenager days supports each other very much. Plus I have other sweet friends & acquaintances to talk to. For example Cem_Fel who hosted me an my husband DarthUncle for a night recently, when we headed to a party nearby. Or MaLana who seems to have the mind powers of a Jedi knight and who sent me a parcel out of the blue.

And I should mention that the daughter-in-law of Mark Hamill's German voice actor is a wonderful and inspiring person, too. I am glad that I am allowed to know her.

There are so many wonderful persons out there.

And life can be beautiful. This is why I love working with babies and toddlers so much at present. Their efforts to explore the universe that they have been born into.

Do you get the place to yourself while they're gone, brodiew? That can be sort of nice, actually.

Don't berate yourself for not doing more, AzureAngel2. As I said, when you are in a dark place, it is very very hard to reach out for help, even if everyone you know is trying to throw you a rope. Breathe, and grieve, but don't blame yourself.

Fingers crossed for you, mavjade, that you finally get something more permanent and that it's not so up in the air.

Not much news here. Eclipse was so amazing, I am trying to get back into the swing at work, now. Nearly everyone is out on vacation, though. When I went in on Wednesday, all the lights were out and I was wondering if they had shut down for the day and I hadn't been told. It was like being in one of those horror movies, where Something Horrible has happened, and the Dumb Guy hasn't heard about it and is walking around yelling, "Hello, hey is anyone there?" while the Creature lurks behind breathing heavily.

Fortunately, someone in a different division walked in, and everyone else just showed up late.

 

Home from hospital and the Cardiac cath - they ended up not adding the stent as my arteries aren't blocked, but as a few of my hoses were connected wrong, there's undue pressure on my heart - I can't decide if I'm an alien or a mutant. Considering that parts of my body are a blueish green, I think it's the former.

 

Oh, that's scary, Breezy! Hm, clearly an alien, so when you decide to return to GFFA, maybe you can bring the rest of us with you? Glad you're back! Rest, recover...

 

DarthBreezy -- whew, glad the procedure went successfully & definitely rest and recover.

Ewok Poet -- whatever struggles you're going through, hope they look up too soon. Loving the mutual/reciprocal fic-flow between you, Raissa, and Findswoman. When L/M specialists had that kind of thing going, it was a sweet thing indeed. Coolest thing.
