What did you compress this with? I can't see it but I do have the DivX codec and have no problem seeing DivX usually.

We wre going to use a firesword in our old fanfilm One FOrce, but it took so long to animate for every frame we changed our minds.

More power to u if u can do it though :)

Wow hats off to you that looks cool! I would like to point out though when the fire sword is still it is ok, but when it is moving the fire seems to be sort of stiff and still, the flames should be moving shortening and lengthening. If you know what I mean, if you don't ah well! Stuff it!

I dond't really remember what codec i used but if I make it a sorenson 3 quicktime do you think you guys could view it?

ODj... I know exactly what you meen... The fire is actually animating as the sword is moving... the problem is that the sword moves so fast the the animation looks stiff.

I'll see what i can do with this though.

    ANymore comments/suggestions ??

It works fine. I have windows media player7 and divx5.

It looks fine. It has that "80's" B-movie effects look to it since it looks like an image of fire was rotoscoped onto the sword. Doesn't seem to be burning on the fast movements...only when it is still.

Nice job. Keep up the good work. It is a refreshing effect...

I imagine I would just zap my opponent with fire rather than lighting my sword up. Hehe.

That looks good. What did you use to create the flames?

the question was asked "what do I use?"

Well... I don't want to tell people because i think it will effect their opinion on how it looks. It may look good to them but I know thei opinion will change when they hear the program... That may have just gave it away though.

I'll Pm you and tell you.

I couldn't see it, not because of a codec though. I couldn't see it because when I clicked the link (I also typed the URL in a new address bar) it gives me a "404 internal error" page.

So is it possible for you to send it to me via AIM (my sn is AWB1989) or to e-mail it to me (AWB1989@comcast.net) or just upload it to a different site?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

Hopefully you have no objections JediDrew, I have put it on my web site as a backup. If you cannot get it off JediDrew's web site try mine.

Thanks for putting a backup on your site.

As for the test, yeah, it's not bad, it's cool. But yeah it looks like a still image that's being manipulated with keyframes for the animation (from a still image). Heh, it reminds of me a long torch.

It looks pretty good but when it is not in fast motion it looks VERY 2D.

I could tell what program you used the second I saw the effect.

I do agree with the statement above, but that is the way the effect is, oh well.

    Nice job tho :)
