When you fire a weapon at a droid without armor, do you use 0 as a defense value?

This is a CCG question by the way.

Yes. Unless it has armor, a droid has a defense value of 0.

So non armor droids are basically useless right?

Worthless?? No. Many droids (like Threepio With His Parts Showing) have other uses which can help in battle or outside of battle.

Until they get hit with basically any weapon.

Yes, but there are ways around it. Droids w/o armor generally have no presence either, so a droid by itself can not be battled. If they can't be battled, they can't be shot - watch out for Snipers, though.

Also, put a droid on a starfighter. It can't be shot there. It can even be a landed starfighter, which can't be targeted by any character weapon.

There's lots of things you can do with your droids if you're worried about losing them in battle.

Yeah but I was wondering about 2x7pr or something like that in special edition(it makes your imperials and aliens at same site power + 2 and immune to attrition < 3 under night conditions). I just realized he would be easy to destroy

Chances are your opponent will be more worried about the imperials and aliens that are getting +2 power. The Droid is just as useless with no characters to make +2 power. And if the other characters are gone, the droid has no presence, and the opponent can drain away.

Pesky things like droids with no defense value or Talz are very valuable. Because if they're shooting at those characters, then they're not (usually) gonna be firing at Obi or Vader or whoever is important at that time :)
